Greetings DRG
I suppose it will been 3 pole motor,if not less Märklin did verified another motor.
3 pole would be bad news.
I buy no locos with 3 poles.
By the end of september 2014 the US Army will leave Schweinfurt after almost seventy years. This is a very sad news.

Good news! Month ago, this guy told me they won't know, how much poles their motors have!
It seems, they are able to learn from the customers!

Hi Moritz,
I understand some Marklin users are/were not happy with the digital performance of 3 pole motors.
On the other hand, many (probably the majority) could not tell any difference.
In the end, the weight of market innuendo and false information that attached itself to the tag 'el cheapo' motor, did far more damage than the motor itself ever caused.
Into the future, Marklin will continue to vary both the size and componentry of their motors depending on the model.
As adult consumers of Marklin products, we can surely accept these facts.
regards
Kimball

Hi!
Maybe it's a little weird i am saying this, but...
The 200 Märklin locomotives that pulled a 48 ton IC open seating car into the Guinness Book of Records, Marklin 37434,
Class 143 general-purpose locomotive... All of them were 3-pole engine...
Sometimes i try to remember that to embrace the new\future 3-pole engine locomotives...
it's just a kind of thought.
Regards
Carlos

All of them were
five-pole
engines.
From old Märklin, there was a single three-pole loco with a 37xx ref. number AFAIK.
All 37xxx locos that use the brushes 601460 have five-pole motors. Including the 37433 that was used for the record (locos were later sold with a special decal and the ref. number 37434).
The explosion diagram for the 37433/37434 shows a three-pole AC/DC motor. But we all know the quality of Märklin documentation and when you check the spare parts for "Anker" (386820) and "Feldmagnet" (389000) you will find it is the normal five-pole DC motor.
Regards
Tom

I can live with their concealing descriptions in the product database ("controlled high-efficiency propulsion" for all locos, even for analogue locos without decoder (where is the "control" supposed to come from when there is no decoder?)) and they have to live without my money.
Their Copy'n'Paste product descriptions contain too many Copy'n'Paste errors to be reliable.
I've made the experience that e-mails from Märklin's Frank M. will sometimes tell the opposite of what Märklin's Frank M. wrote one month earlier. Maybe other media will also confirm the five-pole motor.

Tom

I aksed the Trix service, how it is possible to have a "controlled high-efficiency propulsion" in a model withou digital decoder (
Trix H0 - Art.Nr. 22376
).
I never got an answer! Maybe, they don't know how it works but they believe that it works

Yes, the Super Chief bases on an old construction. Therefore, it has the 5-pole DCM (two of them). Except the sound the 5-pole DCM is a very powerfull and robust motor, it can be optimized by adding ballbearings to the armature shaft on one (gear box) or both (motor shield) sides.

We have seen Märklin H0 models with Faulhaber-type motors for less than EUR 250.

Looks to be a watershed moment in the Z scale line.

This loko is an interesting thing, but darn it is an ugly spud.

Era 3
DB lokos, coaches and freight cars from across Europe
But I do have the obligatory (six) SBB Krocs
ECoS 50200, all FX and MFX decoders replaced with ESU V4s, operated in DCC-RailCom+ with ABC brake control.
With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397.

The certificate to follow for BR05 at end of this year if you send coupon to dealer from the insider 3/2014 package.

The dealer doesn't have to send in the form anymore. They place their orders via internet. They also tagged the box for the insider issue of the catalogue. So the form is now just for their own administration. They need your member number and an extra number following the member number that is on the form, but the same as on earlier order forms. That number is not on your member card. The order administration in Göppingen will check the status of your membership and also verify that you can order only once. (I suppose)

I'm interested in this 39053 loco, it would be my first insider loco ever. But the price is oh so steep. Do you think there is a chance to get a discount at one of the dealers? If not official, then 'under the table'? If yes, what kind of discount do you think one could get?

Dealers normally do not advertise discounts on Insider models, but if you ask them for their "Stammkundenpreise" (steady customer prices) you often will get a discount of 10 through 17 %, maybe more. Some dealers give no discount at all.

I see 10% discount from
>Kieskemper<
the limit is 10% discount, I do not think 5 years warranty on 39053 If more that 10% discount.

Why should a bigger dealer discount void the factory warranty? I never heard that. It makes no sense. One thing is completely independent of the other.
Märklin or MHI always get the same amount, independent of the price the dealer gets from you.

Agreed, Rainer phoned me personally early one morning to sort out a problem I had with the Marklin TEE Re 4/4 I train pack.
Never had service like that from any other dealer.

it's on my wish list with the coach set.
Could order the locomotive and the coach set to day when I visited my favourite shop.
(I suppose)
Roland at Lokshop told me the same thing when I was ordering the E93, He mentioned they had my Insider number recorded so didn't really need the form.

I will order the 05.003 Cab Forward to complete my collection of the Marklin 05's.
In saying that I don't have the Black or Blue versions as I try to avoid the fantasy ones to keep some control on the collecting
I'm not too worried about the motor in this one, as prototypically it hardly ran at all anyway, but I'd be disappointed with it, and Marklin, if it came with the same crummy 3 pole motor as the 37455 45.010
I think Marklin have done a better job of the model than Liliput, and maybe some others with the cut outs in the body, obviously they are necessary for our narrow radius curves, (hell curves as M's modellers call them) but the filler plugs for them are included for display or layouts with wider radii
I will also order the Coach Set as it looks rather nice

As earlier mentioned: the BR 05.003 will have a five pole motor.

The last Insider magazine did say they expected visitors to see it in production during the Open Days, so that would equate.

Instead of pulling coaches how about pulling a military train as it looks like a armored engine.

The plating on the 05's was for streamlining for fast Express Trains.
The 05.003 Cab forward was a bit of a failure due to the powdered Coal delivery system to the front of the Lok, where the firebox was, clogging up.
05.003 came right after WWII, when stripped of her plating and turned around with the cab aft in front of the tender and coal shovelled conventionally as per Marklin model 39050
