I had hoped for something even shorter than this Texas Chief sporting two Hi-Liners plus a Big Dome - see pic. Was there maybe an early demonstration train with four or five Hi Liners only? Alsterstreek attached the following image(s): |

No. I am trying to figure out if my Heris coach is prototypical for a Treno Notte train through Switzerland. See the photos that I linked to

Hi Mike,
Yes, understand now I looked at the model photos.
The blue looks similar - are there two types of dark blue on the real ones?

No, (as I stated) we had the Swiss one, and someone (I'm not going back through them to see who) posted an Austrian electric loco with a steam loco painted on the side. I hadn't heard there was an Austrian one as well (apart from the query earlier in this thread). Guess this means it is your turn then.

Does anyone have a picture of a Br24 with the large tender as modelled by Marklin in the 30032? Looking for a prototype picture here.

I did not specify prototype, so I suppose it does! I have been looking for this for some time. ATSF and DRGW shared a line in Eastern CO. You can often find pictures of one or the other on the same line, but I am still looking for both. The truth is out there agent Mulder... What would you like to see? -Brandon |

Hi Michael, Very good pictures of bananas and all.... Well I cheated, by watching a video, so I captured this shot of the real pipe (coal) wagons. I never knew these wagons existed, let alone the model. Great models from Trix. Did they come with the curved cover over each tub? Since I already contributed today, maybe you can have another go. regards Kimball |

Hi Kimball, the tubs are removable in the model but there is no cover. Here is a description on youtube for you; There was also a special Maerklin model - exactly the same (numbering too ) but I cannot recall the catalogue number. For my next request, how about a prototype DB (not DRG) ET87 in action? Regards, Michael.

Hi Michael, The best I can come up with is this photo of Konrad Adenauer getting out of his Mercedes Benz 300, with a train in the background. Adenauer was the first post-war Chancellor of Germany (West Germany) from 1949 to 1963. He was quite aged when he assumed this role, being born in 1876. He realigned the German political progress with close ties to Britain, France and the USA. It is well known that his political campaign in 1953 used a train set up for himself, his assistants, and journalists - complete with sleeping and dining. This may be his train - or it may be not. Marklin made a HO scale set of 3 cars, with a Wiking Mercedes 300 and an Adenauer figure. The set was #43229. Here is a picture taken from hood.de product #29782915. regards Kimball |

Hi Åke, The idea of this topic is to respond to a request from another member.
So for example, if another member asked "I would like to see a photo of a war damaged locomotive", you would post your photo. Then you would have the turn to request a photo you would like to see.
OK, I will post a request. I would like to see a photo of the real S2/5 4-4-4 locomotive pulling a train. This loco was recently released by Marklin as a HO scale model.
regards Kimball

Sorry Kimball - I think I might have been typing while you were - hence above duplication. I can't quite find exactly what you are looking for beyond a picture of an S2/5 that might have a train attached; If this qualifies, can I hand the baton to Åke for a go? Cheers, Michael.

Seeing as this topic has fallen into disrepair through lack of use, I figured I would revive it.
Does anyone have a picture of a loco dressed up similar to the Christmas Br50 that Marklin has announced, i.e. Christmas tree on front, etc. Looking for a prototype picture, not a model photo.

I really can't imagine some one sticking a Christmas tree complete with lights on the front of a Steam locomotive... Perhaps someone from Germany knows of such an event? |
