Hi Guys, I come here first before I go to the ESU forum to ask if anyone has had dealings with a Loksound Select Micro namely # 73800? I have been asked to install this into a Liliput Art-Nr L111113 BR01 1090 DR steam loco. Fitting it in was beaut but programming it with my ESU programmer is so different from the other sound projects I am used to. This one gets quite technical. I am assuming that this decoder offers only American profiles. Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated & if some one has a already prepared sound project that has been fine tuned it would be much appreciated.

Dave... Hi Dave I don't quite catch why this one would be more "technical" than others If you go to the ESU website, "Download" section, you can download the whole file for the BR 01.10, then transfer it into the Loksound Micro, just like you would on any other V4.0 decoder (Shouldn't be any different from the regular Loksound V4.0 since it has the same memory size.!!) The only difference is the load capability for the motor and function outputs, but 750 mA should be enough. I just dowloaded that file (n° 11464) , opened it with my Lokprogrammer software, selected "Loksound micro V4.0" as a decoder and voilà! (took me all of 30 seconds..) It's ready to be transferred to the decoder! Yes it has 20 separate functions...but that's not a problem, it's all pre-programmed in the project file. Unless I did not catch the sense of your request... Let us know! Cheers |

Hi Jaques, Many thanks for your reply. Tried that & it said decoder not supported. This decoder is not a V4. I am used to the old Lokprogrammer 2.7.9 & am only just adjusting to the new Lokprogrammer 4 format. This is so very different to the old original type but I will persevere & learn. I was to assume I could only use Loksound select Micro downloads & they were all American locos. This is a Liliput Two rail Ho DCC loco. What am I doing wrong?

Ok...let's start on the right footing then : is iy a V3.5 or a V3.0? (I had assumed a typo in the title, the actual number is 53800 for a V4.0)
Then when you start the programmer, **instead of letting it automatically detect which decoder is connected**, select the type **manually**...and it should be working.
<Also make sure you have the lastest version of the Lokprogrammer SW V4 loaded. Install it **separately** from the V2, which will let you go back to the original version when handling older decoders.
We'll proceed step by step from there and solve your problem!

Hi! LokSound Select is a different product line: affordable decoders intended for the American market. Decoder projects are not compatible. You cannot upload "European" LokSound projects to LokSound Select decoders or vice versa. Both are updated with the LokProgrammer, but they are incompatible products. Hi Tom, you are onto it. Now we are speaking the same Language. Yes I am stymied & thought as much. So now I have three working decoders that are destined for American loco use only & I need three of similar kind that can load German / Austrian sound profiles. So for me it is back to the drawing board. Has anyone got any further suggestions on this predicament I find myself in? Note I did not purchase these decoders as I personally would not go near them but I would have chosen a V4.0 personally but this is what I was given to install.

Hi Jaques, Thanks for your help but decoder was not a typo error. Decoder is 73800 & definitely a Loksound Select Micro universal sound decoder.

Dave, what is wrong with installing a V 4 loksound decoder into your Liliput loco ? and if the decoder is too large you can choose the micro version.

Hi John, I would love to install V4 loksound decoder into the Liliput BR01 especially the micro one's as it is perfect for that loco. Problem is the decoders supplied to me are Loksound select Micro #73800. Not my choice but that is where I am at now. I believed purchased in USA. They would now need to be returned exchanged & posted back as like you suggest a V4 micro version capable of being equipped with European sound profiles. A bit of a conundrum.
