Does anyone know the part # for the electric conducting drawbars for the 4228 Rheingold cars? I need to replace mine. Thanks.

Hi,

I'm sure that someone will know the PN. I wanted to suggest converting to current conducting closed couplers (such as Marklin 72020 or 72021). I never even opened the draw bars for my 4228 set, just left them in the box. The current conducting close couplers do add a slightly larger gap between coaches, but the overall handling of the set is much easier (to be able to take the cars apart easily).

I have the Glückauf set and went the other way: I ordered the Rheingold drawbars to close the gaps.

The number is E272140 (RRP €6 for a bag of four).

Tom

Well it would be nice if you'd introduce yourself first, no?
(Something called "common courtesy"..)
You can find these parts under the following number Märklin 239550

Sorry to contradict you, but 239550 is the wrong length for the Rheingold. The Rheingold uses special drawbars that are a bit shorter.

Hi tom
You are right.
But the 239550 are easy to find, but not the shorter ones.
The difference is only 3 to 4mm.

the Glukauf coaches don't have any lighting ...could you tel us why you use drawbars ?
It's been a longtime I didn't handle my two Gluckauf sets , if my memory still serves me, I remember, but I'm not sure, that if we want to install interior lighting with current conducting couplers, we have to replace the NEM Pocket part of the coupler, is it true ?

Because I don't want such a big gap between the coaches.

Here's a picture:
The two cars in front have the power conducting coupler 272140 (there's no power to conduct yet ...), the two at the back have the standard couplers:

Others don't care about the extra mm that come with standard couplers ...

THANK YOU
But if you want to conduct power, you'll need to replace the NEM Pocket fork because there is no hole for the conducting copper insert (if you want something clean with regular Marklin parts)...
Is it true ?
Otherwise it is possible to make a kind of DIY mountage with solder of wires...not very aesthetic solution .
