Hi everybody. This is my first post in this forum.

I've been working in a american layout, and it seems this is one of the final design...

I would like to know your opinions about this layout. It is 410x160cm, and has a shadow station. In the upper levels we have a station and a coal tower.

Wow! That's a lot of track in a small space. Do you know what the grades are between the various levels?

Very impressive and advanced design. I think watching the trains run will be great. Will you use any signal control?

Looks great! A few notes if modelling american:

1: Check all clearances for the big boy and GG1 if you have them. They overhang a LOT on tight switches and curves. Also, no tunnel portals on curved tracks etc.. for the same reason

2: I can't see your diagram well, but the wider the curves the better. Also, if you are wanting any of the new MTH AC trains to run you will need to plan for some seriously wide curves

3: American trains tend to be quite long, so I'm not sure how useful your sidings will be as they are short. If you are good with trains of a few cars then no problem, otherwise I'd rethink the stations as bit, or do more of an industrial siding theme for shunting in the space instead of trying for full train storage on sidings.

Great theme overall!

Hello again,
This is the shadow station, and it is for five long trains (200 cm.)
I would like to use an analog system control, maybe using reeds. And in the upper levels I’ll use signal controls.

Hi,

If wintrack has the possibility to print out the track layout, you could use a software (like PDFCreator) which transforms what has to be printed into a PDF file.

Then you can upload this file to your post.

Only a suggestion, as I do not have wintrack.

Cheers

Renato

jinks,

When you make a new post reply, scroll down and tick the box marked "Attach files to this post? " ... when you save your reply, you will be prompted with a browse button to retrieve the file on your computer.

If it won't see or accept the Wintrack file extension, then zip your file and attach it ...

Hi jinks,

Hi Renato,

you can use WINTRACK-Viewer, the free software for viewing and printing WINTRACK plans and parts lists.
