I will have to put my hand up as a fail for colour pictures (BR06 and 05 for that matter). Perhaps I can offer BDNZ a hint of BR 103 nostalgia with the following? Regards, Token.

Matt Era 3 DB lokos, coaches and freight cars from across Europe But I do have the obligatory (six) SBB Krocs ECoS 50200, all FX and MFX decoders replaced with ESU V4s, operated in DCC-RailCom+ with ABC brake control. With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397. |

Seems that there aren't any colour pictures on the internet of the BR 06 - at least none that I can find. I was hoping that someone might have one hidden away. Anyway, here's a colour picture of my Brawa BR 06. Bigdaddynz attached the following image(s):

To make things easier than finding a colour picture of a BR 06, how about a picture of a double headed E94 / BR 194 train (preferably in colour).

Here's a challenge. Can anyone reproduce the above train in model form? A photo of the closest train you can make up would be good. |

I could create a triple headed train with E94 / BR 194's, but my locos are all the green versions.
I'd have most of those freight cars though.

This is a fairly easy one - I'd like to see a photo of someone's Marklin H0 Langer Heinrich train, and a statement of how many Langer Heinrich locos and ore cars you have. The longer the train the better. The longest train over the next 24 hours gets to pick the next picture.
For the record, I have the 2 Marklin BR 44 locos (26536 and 37883) and also the 2 Trix weathered versions of the same locos, plus 46 ore cars.
I also have 10 of the 1 Gauge versions of the ore cars, but no BR 44 (several friends have one though).

I know it doesn't count, because the locos are BR50's and I don't know how many wagons were in the train, but at that particular event, we collected all the wagons we could find to form the "Baby Heinrich" train Go to time 5:02 in the video. |

Jens therefore has the next request - and we all know that you Mehmet, are the only one that has a video of a BR 44 pulling 300 odd freight cars, so nobody else has much of a chance of fulfilling that request - I don't even think I have 311 freight cars! Maybe I should have been a bit clearer..... Using the word 'odd' in this context does not mean strange or peculiar, rather it means approximately - saying 300 odd means approximately 300 or around 300.

What's your problem?? Like I said, it means means approximately 300 or around 300, which includes 310! It's just a figure of speech, that's all. No need to get offended about it, there was no offense meant!

Very well. I would like to see pictures of your model railroad, where the theme is a specific railroad or railroad system, and the rolling stock is correct for the period. This means no US hoppers on a Swiss mountain and no TGVs at the coaling facility. "Foreign" rolling stock is OK - if it could have happened or happens on the prototype. You may stage a scene on your layout, where everything we see in the picture matches the criteria, even though the rest of the layout does not. |

Hi, Here is a scene from my Altkloster layout. It is set in early 1950. Two E91 electric locomotives pass, one with a loaded coal train, the other with an empty. In the background, is the steam loco depot with a couple of wagons picking up ashes. One wagon is still in DRG colours. I do not know for sure if the electric catenary masts are correct for early 1950s, but they are Marklin, so I guess pass muster. It is probably true, that normal operation of these locos required both pantographs to be extended. I did not pose the photo correctly. Now I would like to see a layout picture (preferably your own, but you are welcome to borrow), with a steam loco BR01 on a prototypical passenger train (any era). regards Kimball |
HO Scale - Märklin (ep II-III and VI, C Track, digital) - 2 rail HO (Queensland Australia, UK, USA) - 3 rail OO (English Hornby Dublo) - old clockwork O gauge - Live Steam 90mm (3.1/2 inch) gauge. |

Not a particularly great photo (lots of clutter in the background) but here's a photo of my 30080 BR 01 with a rake of tinplate coaches on the far side of my layout during testing of braking sections for the station area (Baden Baden) that will end up going there. Next to that train is a BR 05 with the longer plastic versions of the tinplate coaches. Bigdaddynz attached the following image(s):

As some may have guessed with my comments about the Long Henry trains, I like long 'unit' trains - trains with many similar type freight cars. I have several container trains, tanker trains, lime hopper car train, the Long Henry ore train, and I'm starting to get a few silo cars for a silo car train.
I'd like to see a photo of a Marklin train on someone's layout of either a tanker, container or silo car trains of only those types of cars (no mixed consists). A picture of a Long Henry train will also qualify (C'mon Stephen I know you've got some).

No need to get offended about it, there was no offense meant! Sadly, one of the downsides of an international forum such as this is when a statement is taken literally. I can support BD in this, another way Dave could have said it was "... a BR 44 pulling 300 or so freight cars". The term 'odd' in this context/usage correctly means 'close to', so if he had said pulling 300 freight cars, it could be taken to mean exactly 300 freight cars, not 299 or 301, but 300, and could also be expressed by informal English as "300 even freight cars", where the word 'even' also means 'exactly'. If you over-think it then you get into other problems, because we would not normally say '300 even', the reason being the opposite of that would be assumed to be '300 uneven' (ie out of alignment, crooked etc). Clearly in this instance the word 'odd' has been mistaken to mean; peculiar, unusual, abnormal or any other verb which implies something 'not quite right'. The truth however is that 'odd' as it was used by BD simply meant a quantity close to 300 and may or may not be actually 300, and most likely somewhere between 290 - 310. Is it a Kiwi thing or would this term also be expressed in other primary English regions (Aus, UK, US, SA, etc) Phew, another bomb defused? Cheers Cookee PS; I'd love to show a "Long Henry", but I only have Thomas and his basic start set wagons. Henry is a much bigger engine and works very very hard (in my best Ringo Starr voice) So here's a true Long Henry - he looks like he has a long train, and a long face...... cookee_nz attached the following image(s): |

At least it ain't a Kiwi thing. Now waiting for the votes of the American jury. |

Hi ALL,
It is very sad for me to see that one ops two thumbdowns I have sent have caused such a chaos here...So I do apologize to David and if necessary to ALL for sending those....I have never thought of breaking someone's heart just because of trains...but one little thing... the number you have been keeping in your lips will soon be a history....and I really wish I had the chance of putting you up (having as honorouble guests) during the next trial right here in Istanbul...then you would have the right to choose the suitable expression for your faces...Have a nice Sunday...
with my deepest and sincere feelings,
mehmet
ps: I am so sorry for being OFF TOPIC...and you still want to criticize the case of 310 and ME...there is already a thread on this subject....you are most welcome... |

Since a few days have passed, I’ll jump in with a request on a similar theme. How about a coal or goods train built using Marklin's older vintage 4601, 4602 and/or 4604 high-side open gondolas?

Good idea, Richard! As I only have a 4601 out of the wagons you quote I can't really satisfy your request, but I think this photo is interesting anyway. It's my 4601 being pulled by my 3001 E63. |
