Issue Märklin 37956 and MS2 ... no able to detect - MS2 v1.81 cannot detect this mfx+ model

Hi all,

me again ... I just try to couple my new mfx+ BR 03 (37956) to my MS2 (v1.81) without success... no loco detection!

... are mfx+ locos only for the CS2 ?!? Maybe I need a firmware update ??

mh mmm .. is not my language but seems taht mfx+ require v1.82 bios or greater!!!

Here is what i found, maybe ban be helpful for someone else:


V1.83 ( Februar 2013)
- Opdatering udgivet 01-03-2013 sammen med CS2 Opdatering V3.0.1
- Bug Fix: Problem med at det første Lokomotiv på Loklisten på MS2 (Slave) forsvinder er løst.

V1.82 (Februar 2013)
- Understøttelse for MFX+ Lokomotiver.
- Dansk Sprog-understøttelse til MS2.

(August 2012)
Mindre Opdatering til CS2 udgivet August 2012.
Denne Opdatering er kun udgivet i Online-versionen til CS2 og har indlejret en opdatering til MS2 :
LOK-DB (Lokomotiv-database-fil) opdateres til Version 011 (03/12) - Marts 2012
(Bemærk : Versions-Nr er IKKE ændret ved denne Opdatering til MS2)

V1.81 (November 2011)
Feature : Ved vekslende indsats af Mobilstation 2 på forskellige CS2 Centraler bibeholdes en Konfiguration for hver CS2.
Feature : Antallet af Sprog på MS2 er udvidet - indeholder nu 12 Sprog.
Feature : Opdaterings-muligheder - MS2 kan nu fordele Opdateringer.
MS2 kan uddele en Opdatering til Skinnebokse (60112/60113 - seneste Version er : V1.39) eller til en anden MS2 via tilslutning gennem Skinnebokse 60112/60113.
(Bemærk : Det er kun muligt med en MS2, som selv har modtaget sin Opdatering fra en CS2, ikke med en MS2 som har modtaget sin Opdatering fra en anden MS2)
Feature : Nye Lok-symboler integreret ved Oprettelse af Lokomotiver på MS2.
Feature : Udvidelser til DCC-POM (POM = Programming on Main)
Feature : Separat "Spærring" af de enkelte Skinne-Protokoller.
Bugfix : Korrekt behandling af Kørselsretning ved drift af MS2 sammenkoblet med en CS2

According to the manual the loco shall work with MS1 and CS1 - and neither of those has seen a firmware update since the days of the ESU mfx decoders.

Would be a shame if the MS2 with version 1.81 could not handle them (mfx+ aka Mondo del non gioco).

To be on the safe side, find someone with a current MS2 (v 1.83) or a current CS2 (v 3.0.1), update your MS2 and try again.

I don't have experience with mfx+ locos.
