Hello,
I bought Brawa t-11 KPEV loco AC with sound and smoke(40357)I like it when I watched Osterthun's video. But the loco could not run correctly on Marklin C track.Continously electricity interrupted.I was afraid of to burn decoder.I thought that this is Brawa loco but I use on Marklin track. It can run with Marklin pickup shoe better.I change the pickup with Marklin.Oley! She runs very well with Marklin pickup shoe.I fixed the problem.

I compared the pickup shoes,as you see at the Picture ,Brawa's pick up shoe is very thin than Marklin.Marklin compatible products produce companies have to very carefull about Marklin engineering.

Sorry for my bad english.I want to share.
Regards
Bülent

Hi Bulent,

Thank you for sharing.

That does look like to be a very thin piece of metal used for a pick up shoe.

Hi Bülent,

Nice Loco. How does it sound?
As far as your problem, I can see from the photo, that the Brawa shoe is bowed, and this will limit the contact area. Try and get it as flat as possible, and then try it again. You can see the Marklin shoe is very flat in comparison.

Brian.

That's what whisper wipers look like - and normally there are no contact problems with whisper wipers.

It seems very likely to the new Marklin sliders....
I also have a Brawa loco, a T8, it runs with no problem in M-track with the factory slider..

Hi,
Thank you all my friends.Brian sound is great but when light on, the generator sound is beginning. It may be a little bit lower.Brake sound is impressed me.

I have another Brawa loco as you see the Picture.Bavarian G4/5H (40119).She is same slider and running without problem.Only when it is crossing double switch turnout sometimes has a problem to get electricity.

Before I changed the slider I checked all important electricity touch points.Sometimes while oiling the wheels if a little bit oil flow between the slider and loco touch point ,it may be same electricity problems and caused to burn decoder.

Anyway the important thing is for me,to solve the problem.

Tom you are right but I am telling what I live.

There are some interesting issues about this loco. There is bell sound but there is not bell :) If you explore the spare part list, you can see bell :) This is important contradiction.I will write Brawa this matter.

Hi,
You are right.I apologize all my forum friends.I inspected loco again and have a look spare parts list.I confused how is Brawa make this mistake.Brawa forgot to place isolator between pick up shoe and body.I prayed for decoder did not burn. The reason of to work with less electrical overload with Maerklin pick up shoe;it's electrical contact area is narrow.

I fixed it with maerklin isolator part and 3M isolator.I wrote this big mistake to Modellbahn Kramm and Brawa
