Since the Merkur stuff does not seem to be available any more, I am wondering if anyone has tried the Noch 99150 or 99160 5m role of ballast foam?

If so what is your opinion?

Ang good close-up images available?

well I did find this site: http://www.merkur-styrop...erklin-H0:::46_72:2.html
which suggests that the Merkur range is still available.....

Hi Dale,

Used it on my previous lay out. The sand coloured version.

Mixed feelings about it.

+ easy to used
+ silent operation

- not a very realistic appearance
- parts for switches are quite expensive
- difficult to built superelevation in curves

Eventually I prefered to ballast my tracks on my present lay-out. Its not that difficult, is a lot cheaper and it looks much better,

Hope this is of some help.

Rinus
