I'm considering connect a computer with JMRI to my Intellibox, and possibly upgrade it to IB II in near future.
Any experiences to share? If I understand correctly, I can program my decoders using IB II, but is it possible with UB USB adapter, and/or via serial to USB adapter and IB I? Or should LocoBuffer II be used?
And, is LNCV programming supported? That is, the programming of Uhlenbrock LocoNet units using LocoNet?
In short: what computer to LocoNet interface is preferred?

Go straight for a USB variant ( not sure you can still get a serial port version now) If you have an IB (IB2) the UB adapter is the one to go for, for no other reason than consistency , but the software and the LNCV tool make your life easier. (well - once you muddle through the German translation ) Note: Fallers Digital Accessories selection comes via a UB partnership and their "161351 PC-Grundmodule" is essentially a combined package of ... the USB Loconet adapter ... WITH 12 output (think k84 like but focused on the providing 20V and 15V for the standard Faller items)) ... AND 11 Sensor inports (think s88 like) ... a version of the LNCV tool ... inherent configuration capability to setup sensor to switch automation that doesn't need a PC (after setup) |

In short: what computer to LocoNet interface is preferred? Hi Lars, all, There is a JMRI Yahoo! group you can join. The development team posts on there regularly. Did the IBX list post something on this? Dr D

Thanks for good response. Of course, I do not need any LNCV programming through JMRI, as I have the LNCV tool... But it helps to get response. The sky is clearing. Let's see if I buy the IB II first, or get another USB solution in the meantime. And where to put the computer; there are so many trains in the trainroom Cheers, Lars
