I am a Forum member from India and have several Marklin Locomotives of the 1955/1970 period.
I need the above instruction manual as I possess the 3048 Marklin Analog Locomotive.
Does any one have a scanned copy or a photocopy of the same, so that he can e mail it to me.

Hi, Markus,
Thank you very much for your prompt response to my question. This manual will be of great help, especially in India where there are very few Marklin enthusiasts and no technical help available.
I also need the instruction manuals ffor the following Marklin HO Rail Engines:
3011 with Overhead Pantograph,
3039 With Overhead Pantograph,
3021 Locomotive
I am also looking for a detailed instruction set on how to install HO Catenary.
I am trying to create a near authentic layout of the 1955/1970 period.

Hi Kumar, Out of interest, what is your main source of obtaining Marklin items?, do you use Ebay or do you have an opportunity to travel and purchase abroad? How did you first get interested in the hobby and your first set? I think we have had maybe just one or two other members from India? Hello Steve,
My age is now 70, An engineer from Germany brought this as a present in 1955 when I was 13.
During my working years this hobby was neglected due to lack of time, now I am reviving it as I have retired,
I buy most of the stuff on e bay UK as my daughter is presently in UK.
There are two other Marklin owners in Pune India , the city where I stay but they are dormant snd not active members.
I have great difficulty in procuring manuals and service and maintenance pamphlets as none are available in India.

Hi Kumar, thanks for the update and background to how you got started. If you can, post up a photo of your layout, or even your set from 1955, that must have been a wonderful gift for a 13 year-old at the time, I bet you were the envy of your friends? Have you visited the Spanish site http://www.lctm.info/Biblioteca/index.htm ? There is quite a lot of older publications there including many of the old catalogues, the Marklin service manual, Signals manual etc. Even though the site is Spanish, many of the publication pdf's are English It is well worth it to download everything you can as it will give you quite an extensive library very quickly. If you want you can then print some of the items out and make your own folders to read in your favourite armchair/hammock. India is well-known for having quite an extensive railway network, are model trains in general quite a popular thing, are there any Indian manufacturers for model trains and are they any good? Hello Steve,
I have already downloaded the catalogs and service manuals from the site you have mentioned.
Yes India has an extensive rail network, one of the largest in the world, most of the population travels by train. It is a big country and fast trains take more than 36 hours to traverse the country from North to South
I prefer to travel by train, and there are a couple of interesting mountain trains built by the British.
I am constructing the layout and will send you pictures, but completion is slow.
In India there are very few model train enthusiasts, as no models are made in India, and they have to be imported, and thus are expensive and hard to source.
We know New Zealand mainly through the sport of cricket, Sir Richard Hadlee and others
Pleasure to hear from you and do keep passing on any information on Marklins of the 1955/1970 period.
What sets do you have and what is your background.
