I can read long German error messages if you paste them here. Please try to paste the text, not a screen shot (if possible). Did you install the appropriate .NET framework from Microsoft? |

Thanks Tom and Eugenio: The message said: Zugriffsverletzung bei Adresse 005ª9CCA in modul ´Lockprogrammer.exe. Lesen von Adresse 00000278, but this number is different in each open specially from the Lockprogrammer for older decoders (2.7.9) For 4.1.5 version during the install I put the 3.51 framework from Microsoft like how the programm need it. With the serial wire this 41.5 version could read the decoders and avoid to connect the hardware to com1 But in this after to put one V.4.0 Lockpilot and try to manage the decoder in the virtual cab i move the control but nothing happend and blink two leds from the lockprogrammer and light two green leds from the decoder tester. Thanks for the patience and help!

The latest versions on their website are 4.4.0 and 2.7.9. There are other programs for firmware updates, one for LokPilot, one for LokSound decoders. You can try the LokPilot firmware program to see if it works and recognizes your decoder.
I use the programmer under Windows XP (32 bit with all Service Packs and security updates) and I don't have any problems.
Blinking LEDs on the lok programmer normally indicate that the track output is active (looks like a good sign). I don't have the decoder tester and I don't know what its LEDs indicate.
Maybe there is a problem with your regional settings or the language of your Windows version (it should work anyway, but this could be a problem). |

An important matter: a) Lokprogrammer v2 is for decoder up to V3 (with or without sound) b) Lokprogrammer 4 is for V4 decoders (and some other very new products)
Mismatched decoders can't be read/written by the inappropriate SW.
I use both under Windows 7 64bit with no problem.

Dear Eugenio and Tom:
After the read your message and grateful for your attention, the situation is: The Lockprogrammer 4.1.5 could be function right, after than I should be set the Com3 manually and in the virtual cab choose address 1000. The lockpilot and locksound are good, I could driver it with the engine that is provided by the decoder tester, used the function keys, lights, read Cvs, perhaps all. Yo make a new project is the future task, but I believe that our probabilities are good. The situation with lockprogrammer 2.7.9 (last version updated) is different. A few minutes ago I install the program at the other PC with Windows 7 by USB connector and all is the same. The Lockprogrammer 4 are good and function properly, and the 2.7.9 show me the same error message. ????????
Thank both for your attention!!! Diego
P.S. If you would like I can write in spanish, my native language, if not you may support my english!!!

Dear Friends: Finally after several intents I donwload the 2.7.9 lokprogrammer version and install it and -really I do not know why but if in my ESU DVD I have this version- . The important, now the software run properly. This software could be very complete. Is possible to make the same with the version 4 of course with decoder 4.0, for example lokpilot or eventually loksound? Other, how I identify the pin 1 in decoder with 21 pin connector? I have one loksound and do not connect in wrong way to the decoder tester? Thanks again for all and specially your patience! Diego

I use both under Windows 7 64bit with no problem. Does this mean that I can't use Lokprogrammer 4 to configure a V3 decoder? |

For V4 decoders, you use software 4.4.0 to do everything (configuration, firmware upgrades, sound uploads). For V3 decoders, you use software 2.7.9 for configuration and sound uploads, but there are two separate programs for firmware upgrades. I have four icons on my desktop and start the appropriate program based on decoder type and task. Would be nice to have one application that detects the type of decoder, but it's not really a problem OTOH. Re Pin 1: Pin 11 is the missing pin (the decoder has no hole there). Pin 1 is at the other edge opposite of pin 11. 21 pins, 21 holes, only one way to bring them together (unless brute force is used). |

Hello Tom: Thanks for your advice about the 21 pins connector. Not I do not want use the brutal force anyway, and less witha bit decoder! Adriàn: Hello also and is true the decoder 4.0 use the properly soft, and 3.5 and less (for example I could read one DCC 2.0) use the 2.7.9 This is both of you Do you know other software to read other brands of decoder thar supported the locprogrammer or other simialr hardware? Grateful hug to both

When using Lokprogrammer with decoders by other than ESU, you get an error. Actually you can write the decoder (I tested that with TAMS), but not read. Every Decoder Manufacturer has its own SW (even if the CV are the same: in CV 8 you can even read the code for the manufacturer. It's the "market"

I tested JRMI and Decoder Pro, but weren't useful for me: they are designed fro DCC decoders and CS (I use Maerklin). Nevertheless, give them a try, as they look as working with decoders by any brand Another solution I'm testing is a new function in RocRail (RocPro): just need time to prepare some useful tests.
