Hello all,

I'm searching for the list of active CV's and their value to reset my Fiegende Hamberger 's decoder.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

The prototype train didn't have any CVs (wrong forum, Digital forum would be more appropriate).

The Märklin model is not the "Fliegender Hamburger", it's just the successor "Bauart Hamburg".

The decoder is an ESU decoder. Just write value 8 to CV 8 to reset the decoder to factory defaults. The default values cannot be read from the decoder.
Regards
Tom

Do you Know you can upgrade the 37770 with a ESU loksound? I have installed a loksound into my VT 137 and it looks wonderfull.

There was a ESU KIT for this train. It was 61450 and came with the square speeker that fits perfectly into the train. This is very old and maybe dificult to find now but you can use the 62450 (loksound V3.0 mfx) and buy a 100 ohm square speeker with ESU 50448 reference

If you want a V4 then the reference is 64450 Loksound V4 mfx. You will need the 4 ohm 50334 square speaker

Here I attach a file with photos of my train and the manual of instalation.
File Attachment(s):
37770.rar (1,183kb) downloaded 123 time(s).
manual.rar (672kb) downloaded 85 time(s).

Roland, rar files are an archive file like zip files. You should be able to extract the rar file with the latest versions of Winzip, but Winrar is the program used to create rar files.

My Laptop says the same.

Ruben, can you please change the files to a format which is recognised by most PCs? Pdf would be good!

Just download Winrar, and use that to extract the archive. It's free for 30 days or so.

My work laptop doesn't allow me to install any software myself.

I might try it at home, or just not bother.

Thanks anyway, David!

When reading the CV's I don't see any CV named CV8. Decoder is read as ESU Lokpilot DCC V2.0

It seems impossible to be reseted.

Anybody can help?

I don't know if it can be reset with an ESU LokProgrammer.
It can be reset with a CU 6021, an Intellibox, an MS1. Should also work with MS2, CS1, CS2. Just register the train as MM programmable and do the reset.
BTW: which controller(s) do you have? Please indicate if you need further help on resetting that thing.
It doesn't support DCC. It's an MM only OEM LoPi 2.0.

Tom

It should be able to. The Lokprogrammer software allows you to write CV's directly to a decoder.

That works with every DCC decoder. But does it work with an MM only decoder?

Back then Märklin were using ESU decoders with 8-pin plugs. Decoders "can only be replaced at the factory" because they always have a wire soldered to an El Cheapo sound module and a special firmware without DCC. Sigh.

Lokprogrammer works with ANY ESU decoder: write 8 in CV8 to reset.
There might be some difference with decoder specially made by ESU for Maerklin (can't say exactly).

The decoder can be reseted writing 8 to CV8. It can be done with Marklin 6021, ESU ECOS, Marklin CS1 or CS2, lokprogrammer etc. I know because when I upgrade my 3770 with a loksound I used the deco to upgrade a DELTA locomotive. It works perfecly.

The decoder only works in MM mode, not DCC. I upgrade its firmware to the last that ESU have for a LP2.0 but it is still without DCC. My lokprogrammer detects it as LP2.0 but with no DCC protocol.

I have both Märklin CS2 and ESU color station. I did try to reset the decoder with CS2 but it didn't work. Reading the CVs with ESU color station aborts and reading these with lokprogrammer succeed but reveal no CV8 so I can't reset to firmware value with value 8 set on that CV as it doesn't seem to exist!

So I stay with the problem.

I think I will upgrade my SVT 137 with Loksound V4 with eight plugs interface.

It should be able to. The Lokprogrammer software allows you to write CV's directly to a decoder.

I'm sure we can rewrite an existing CV but create it, is it possible?
What is also estonnishing is the fact that lokprogrammer can detect the origin of the decoder as an ESU DCC V2.0 and I think that these data are stored in CV 8, so I'm not understanding what happens because I can't see any CV8 on the datas of the decoder window read by the lokprogrammer.

As I said It doesn't work with CS2. That's the reason why I'm searching for the initial values and CVs from a working decoder on a SVT 137

In the CS2, create a new loco with #37770 from database, put the train on the programming track and select "Reset" from the loco options screen. You should see the lights of the train flashing for a moment and it should have the default settings after that.
If it still doesn't work with the default address, then maybe it's damaged (can't hurt to try the reset 2 or 3 times).
