Hello everyone,
I have been looking to get a Marklin Viktoria ship. They look like they are absolutely amazing. I have only seen one other post about this topic so I have a few questions.
Produced: 2002 How many were made? What did they sell for? What do they sell for now with box?
Does anyone here have one?
I am also looking to get into the replika wind up trucks!
Thanks so much! Bill |

The Viktoria is an piece of art, absolutely stunning.. I don't know how many Märklin actually produced, but I don't think I could have been so many when they were rather expensive when they came.. A friend of mine (who has 2 Viktorias) payed about 1890 euro per piece or something like that for them when they came.. The price today, can't really tell perhaps a little bit more or less you'll never know for sure.. |

An outsider. I'm looking for the owner of that horse. He's tall, blonde, he smokes a cigar, and he's a pig!

An ignorante question from me:
Can this boat actually sail, or is it "only" for display? |

Hi, The good news: Most models swim. My one does, too. But I heard of people which dived in their pool.... The bad news: The clockwork is much to small and fully insifficient to drive that ship. The clockworks used in the original models ran +20 minutes. But Marklin was clever in this case: "Never run the clockwork without water" can be read in the manual. So most collectors never try and will never find out that the repro does not run more than three minutes and is not able to move that ship like it should do. Also the mounting parts (see manual) for a WILESCO-steam-engine as a replacement for the clockwork havn't been delivered. Markus

Yes,
I too have heard the boat can actually float. However as Markus has informed us, not efficiently!
This ship will never see water as long as its in my collection!
Thanks, Bill |

The Purpose is to be sailing/steaming across the pond with steam and smoke from the smokestack/Funnel, what a sight to be seen |
