Of course I forgot to hand in the cupoun to my dealer. But I´ll buy the cataloguge anyway. It´s not much money. Do the Insider ones differ from the ordinary? I have some older Insider cataloguges with hardcover. But the latest one I´ve got were only 3 different "brouchures" with 3 different scales (Z, H0, 1).

It would seem that the softies are taking over at Maerklin. Not a very powerful image on the frontcover if you ask me.

Hi, I agree with Paul. I do wish that Märklin would get back to the 60s where even though they did not have great layouts on the cover pages they did have them throughout the catalog pages. Those photos made my heart race at 11 years old and would still today, but on the cover. Well, that's just my opin. Peter

I don't see anything wrong with that photo. I think it's atmospheric, and the kind of photo I would like to pose on my layout if I could. Besides, it shows two trains, and not just the front end of a railcar or engine as we sometimes get. I think the 2008 photo was much more boring, with a head-on shot which showed nothing of the train. See photo below (sorry about the quality!) I do agree that Marklin should go back to the theme of having photos of a layout through the pages of the catalog and then showing the trackplan for that layout in the "Layout building" section. I used to get loads of inspiration from those layouts. RayF attached the following image(s): |

hi All the 2012/13 normally come out in November and we got delivery 7 days ago and they were not on that so we are expecting it on the next one later this month and the New items comes out late Jan as its linked to the Fair 1st week of Feb. One thing also is you need to send in your white insider forms to get your Catalogue and car and sign all three parts of it as they only make what is ordered it does not come automatically just because you are an insider you must complete the forms and post them to your dealer okay The word is the new insider model could be an electric one but all will be revealed in good time and they probally wont go back to the early marklin plans which were all track and very little scenery, where as now so many of you have moved on to put so much more effort into your scenic side , and with electronics, cars, and all sorts of little scenic treasures being made , including modules the whole Model railways have moved to another level and never looked so real and the digital side is bring heaps of the younger generations into the hobby world wide which longterm is great so soon all will be revealed and we will be away for another great 12 months of filling our Marklin caves all the best and of yes we have two new Grandaugthers !!! Dion and Di have two girls been placed with them permanalty a 3 year old and 1 and 1/2 years sisters so Lucy has two new sisters and they in 5 weeks have gone from 1 to 3 kids and us forom 4 to 6 grandkids and we have another one due Dec 17th to Our younger Son and his wife so that will make 7 the New ones are Syklar and Maddy so really cool all the best and we had a great time recently at the Wgtn show just across the aisle from wgtn marklin club layout regards Bryan OLD TOOT |

Thanks Steven,
Scrolling through it i have found no surprises. The new catalogue is still not for sale in the M shop in Rotterdam city centre, the old catalogues are still on the display. Come to think of it the shown cover could be a hoax, with the real cover still to be relvealed. |

In a fortnight there will be more catalogue offers on eBay, so maybe there'll be some cheaper ones. |

How can it be that the catalogue is for sale on internet whereas the M shop in Rotterdam city centre does not have it? Must be very poor logistics! |

Lokshop have mine in stock. Only trouble is that my catalogue shelf is full! I have every catalogue since 1984 on that shelf, except for the 1993-94 which I missed. Now I'm thinking I might have to start getting rid of some... |

Upon closer look, the bridge on the cover is a very strange one. A total of 3 large bridges coupled together without any support underneath?! As a result, the bridge seems to be sagging downwards a bit! |

In the real world, this bridge would have to have a single, big arch or be a single rectangular bridge. In older catalogues they had pictures where two pieces of the old catenary had been soldered together without mast. |

A printing error on page 232,C-track 24530 radius R5 mentioned twice with same text, but the righthand side track seems to be longer and has a different color code.

That photo is a lot better -thank you- I still find it hard to tell for sure but I am still inclined to believe that it is de-railed. To make things worse, I am almost certain the second wheel on the flat car is derailed. Which if correct makes you wonder why no more attention has been paid when taking a photo that will appear on the cover of a catalogue. I don't think everything has to be perfect but at least some details have no excuse. There is an internal photo that was used in a lot of catalogues for many years that kept annoying me and there is another bridge/ramp that structuraly would have never worked in real life. Sorry the photo is not in the right position but I couldn't process it easily. Iamnotthecrazyone attached the following image(s):
