My guess would be that they will do 3027/3047. But that's just a guess!

And you never know, they might do a boxed set of Banana wagons to go with it. Now that would keep the Ian's of this world happy! Laugh

I think they will, it just makes sense. However they have already made a replica in the 80's wasn't it the 3108?

3045 would be a definitive buy for me.

Yes that's right, but it was produced for Märklin's 125 year anniversary (1984).

Yes, but 3108 was the version with only one window in the engineer's cab. They would want to bring back the version with the two windows

Nearly all the 3047 had one window and I thought we were talking about that one. The early 3048 had no plastic windows however the new repro seems to have them and also has the later type of handrail near the lights which points to the later versions and for that reason I wouldn't be surprised if they release the 3027/3047 would be the later type of 3047.

BTW: 3108 differences did not stop at the windows. tender could be separated, no telex, paint semi gloss instead of flat and I think it did not have the smoke generator.

Looks great. I would love to get one myself (I have been very pleased with the 30210 and 30050 repros I have as well), but I think I'll hold off and see if the price drops next year. 30210 and 30050 seem to have remained in stock. In the US there were pretty good prices on those in the most recent Walther's sale.

Hi, looks very nice. Interesting they have covered the motor sort of like an old 3047. Have you opened yet, what have they used as motor? Is the sky a conventional screw type or click on? No smoke generator I suppose?
Thank you,
Alex

If someone really has to have a 30080 they are available from www.lokmuseum.de for Euro 230.90.
Why do grown men play with trains?
Their wives insist they are insane
But their dreams they won't let down the drain
'Cause there ain't no thing so hard to lose as those disappearing railway blues.

Judging by previous reproductions and by the pictures in the 30080 manual, the motor is a DCM.

Very nice indeed.... I purchased both the 30210 and 30050 since I have a number of original sheet metal coaches in near new condition and wanted a similar looking locomotive to pull them on a digitally-equipped layout. Not sure if I'll get this latest offering: I just bought an F800 with crisp, solid box and papers. Maybe when I'm through drooling over that one, I'll consider the 30080 BigGrin

We discussed that earlier in this thread - see my post #51 at the top of this page.

That said with my previous suggestions of 3027/3047, an SK800 would be nice, but Marklin might have to retool that loco for a DCM motor. Plus, I don't think the SK800 was ever released with the blue box with stylized loco painting, so that kinda fits outside the theme of the reproductions. A 3015 Crocodile would certainly fit the reproduction theme, but again would have to be retooled for a DCM motor.

Guess I came in a little late on the thread Blushing I agree the tooling issue could prove a bit of a problem, not to mention having to re-create an even earlier box design.

I like the idea of a 3015 return though... you can never have too many crocs BigGrin

Well, they released the anniversary set with the two retooled (3015) kroks. I doubt that another 3015 might come our way so soon. Although' I'd be the first one to order it, if it were released, especially if it comes with the art box of the 60's or 70's.
Best regards,
Armando García

Yes, it's a Hurricane's doll - the Hurricanes are the local Super 15 Rugby team. Many famous All Blacks have played for the Hurricanes, Jonah Lomu and Christian Cullen being but two of them.

Here's those extra photos of 30080 I promissed.

I would be interested to know how this reproduction 30080 compares to the original loco (3008 ?)

When the 30050 Class 23 came out we had quite a few detailed comparisons of the differences.

Of course I am going to buy a 30080, the price is coming down below Euro 200 now on German Ebay.
Just interested in the differences if anyone has the time.

Many Thanks
Ashley
