A few dealers, Reynaulds, Eurorailhobbies have advertised "Black Friday" sales. Walthers lists 10% or free shipping. There may be other dealer sales as well. My question is: What, if anything, did you find on special, and was it a good price or just a rare item that you noticed that may not have been available elsewhere?
Regards

I purchased a couple of Fleischmann car sets from Reynaulds (red cross and a 2 car DR boxcar set) I didn't see anything from Marklin that I particularly wanted that was discounted.

Mike,
I have not run across anything great. I find the better deals are still in Germany. The drop in the Euro helps.

Mike C I found this site that always gives 20% off Walthers prices!!!! www.tototrains.comToToTrains is an authorized Walthers dealer, but unlike most model train and hobby stores, ToToTrains gives a discount of 20% on all Walthers Catalog and Website items, and a discount of 10% on all Walthers Catalog and Website items that are on sale on any given day!

There was recently a Maerklin/Trix Fall Clearance through dealers. Some dealers had the items listed on their sites, while others simply continued to display the full retail price. I wonder if they informed their regular clients of the available discounts or just pocketed the amount as additional profit. Many of these dealers have now returned to normal pricing, meaning that any items they bought at the sale price from Walthers now have ridiculous markups compared to cost. Aside from items that are overstocked, I have not seen much in previous years and don't expect to see much in the way of real "black friday" specials on model RR, especially not on Maerklin
