Hi, I am considering buying the 37615 loco with Telex coupler. Has anybody got one and what are your opinions? Thanks in advance, Alan

Yes, I have one in my collection, but I haven't run it yet! I have quite a few of these diesels and I like them a lot - a classic Märklin design with lots of character.

If you are not in a hurry, you may prefer to wait for the 37616 (blue and cream version) which is due in November, and which has full sound for the first time, and also the new design Telex couplers. I have ordered one of these from my Märklin dealer, too.

Nigel, thanks for the reply. I see that Lokshop have the 37616 priced at €224,96 which is some €64 more expensive. Where have you ordered yours from and is it a similar price. I may actually order the 37616 instead Smile

It is a shame that you are so far down south or you could have joined our merry band of Marklin enthusiasts here in the central belt of Scotland. Glenn comes up from Stockport. Alan

Hi Alan,

I always buy new Märklin from Hans Bender, who is the best dealer I have ever found (by miles). I have been dealing with him for 20 years now, and he gives superb service and the best prices (not necessarily those published on his web site, for various reasons).

I can't comment in public about my opinions of other well-known dealers . . .

Yes, I know Glenn, and I know he comes up to Scotland!

Hi Nigel, thanks for the link. I must now discuss this with the boss to see if I can merge my 20th wedding anniversary and Christmas present into one and go for the 37616. I am surprised that no one else has commented on this topic. Alan

Hi Alan,

Yes, it always surprises me which topics get a lot of interaction, and which ones don't!

Discussing preferences for Märklin dealers is also a little contentious. I don't feel I can promise great service on behalf of someone else, though I'm happy to give my opinions and experience privately. I see a lot of posts recommending dealers I've tried but don't use any more, but I suppose it's a matter of personal taste.

Anyway, good luck with negotiating your next Christmas present!
