It would appear the truck driver took a shortcut from his scheduled route & the truck with it's abnormal lowbed load being a "Transformer" has bottomed out on the crossing & got stuck & if you watch the "Youtube" clip the results are for all to see. Disaster big time.

Sad to hear. Why is it always trucks?

It happened in my city some years ago. A truck trailer got stuck between a crossing because the driver ignored the red blinking light and got stuck on the crossings beams. The driver went out of the cab and tried to raise the beams. He didn´t know that he should only try to to drive through the beams.
The result was that the 3-part train came and crashed in the trailer. The front car crashed in a tree (the driver died). The rest of the train fell of the track. After that all trains were to reduce their speed when running that part of the track.

Paul, I understand the truck driver suffered serious injuries to his legs. Passengers on the train only very minor injuries.Line will only re - open today being Sunday. Track & the boom gates will have to be replaced & the road resurfaced. Lot of work being done to get it open ASAP.
