Here's my 33th Lok

A BR96 (37964)

It came in a nice wooden box

What a great model. Those Mallet types are soooo.. impressive. While I model era III, that colour scheme is pretty tempting.

Congratulations.

Eric: Yes it is. Lutz posted extensive pictures here: https://www.marklin-user...ault.aspx?g=posts&t=7786

It is a great lok. Of course time will tell if the SDS is a good long term motor, but ot sure does run smooth and quiet now.

Hi Voller,
I enjoyed your pictures.

Of yours, just on looks alone, my favourite is the 3 car red set from Heljan. What an interesting model.

It's called an MO. It was a very common loc from about 1935 to 1980 in Denmark. It could drive alone as a small passengertrain, with passengercars or with goods. It's a "Jack of all trades", but it was mainly used as a smaller passengertrain towards the end of its service period. Basicly like my picture.

You can read more about it here: jernbanen.dk. It's in danish, but clicking the small yellow boxes will show some pictures.
Best regards, Voller.

Voller, are all the locos originally three-rail (AC) or did you have to modify some of them? If yes, can you write something about the difficulties (if any) that you encountered? I am very inetrested in continuing my experience with DC/AC modifications since I can get many models that M* or the other german suppliers do not produce.

For Lutz.. I was trying to find in this thread if you posted how many locos you have and I could not find it.. I noticed that you have approx. 30 Re460 (I have 6 or 7 and I thought I had a lot of them Smile)...

They do. Not quite as much pulling power as your typical Märklin-loc (possible due to a lower weight), but they run very well. The engines are much more silent than Märklins.

FS? I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what that is?

The only loc I converted from DC to AC is the Heljan EG (the very first picture). Not much of a conversion, since Heljan builds locomotives, which are easy to convert from DC to AC (and the other way around). It's simply a matter of moving a wire inside the loc and installing af current pick-up shoe. Only problem is adjusting the height of the pick-up shoe, so that the loc won't get stuck in turnouts. Then there is the matter of adjusting the space between the wheels from ~14,3mm to ~14mm, but by a large, there are no major problems with converting Heljan locs from DC to AC.
Best regards, Voller.

Stable increased by one. The 39121 was in the mail this morning. What a Lovely beast. increadibly quiet, crawls around on Step 1 or rapidly increases speed smoothly as throttle is opened.
On little thing you only get the station announcenent when you turn the Sound on.
DId not explore all possibilities as the CS is away for the transplant surgery and I used the MS. Loc was recognised immediately but I guess as a 39120. But no matter it worked a treat.

That 3772 is in much better shape than mine - mine has yellowed and the shell is cracked (looking for a replacement, but think I may have to buy a spare normal Br.212 shell from ebay for now). I also have 3774, the Br.216. This is in better structural shape but it's equally yellow!

Guus,

I have an excel spreadsheet where I have Bitmap images of teh locomotives.

The drawings come from a screensaver called MM Screensaver. You can get it here:
http://www.mm-eisenbahn.de/index_e.htm

Several sites have images for locomotives and trains. One of these has a nice database of images:
http://www.iit.bme.hu/traffic/indexe.htm

This is a webring dedicated to this screensaver:
http://www.mm-webring.de/mm_list-e.htm

I did several drawings a few years back of my locos and trains.

Very nice, Mario.

I am approaching 40 locos so I'm not even halfway to where you are at the moment. How do you find the time to run them all? I assume they don't all fit on your layout at the same time. Do you run them all regularly or have them mainly on display?

I see you converted some DC locos... in particular Vitrains E464 (but you wrote E424!) and Roco E636. This is something I'd like to do! Is this conversion easy? If you have pictures of them, I'll be glad to see them!

Ray,
I am working on my lay-out (still conceptual stages) but ib the meantime I enjoy the collecting and modifying part of the hobby. I run my locos on a carpet lay-out very rarely. Some of them I would also not run even if I have a lay out (a few Roco's and older M* models). I plan on having a display and showing them.

I recently bought and have to convert these two:

Pietro,

you are right.. I have to correct my descriptions. I converted all Rivarossi and most Roco's from DC to AC. Here is a thread with pictures and descriptions. More are available if you need:

An outsider.
I'm looking for the owner of that horse. He's tall, blonde, he smokes a cigar, and he's a pig!
