Hi all,

Bought this along with the 1936-39 tracks last week, no one else bid and the postage was covered by the tracks, so got the crossing for less than £2.

Now, I'd be the first to agree, not in the best of condition, but none the less, I like it. Smile

Ian.

Interesting, the middle one does not have a sloping road. Different version?

Your one is between 1956 and 1964. 7054 replace 457B in 1956 with change center rails.

I have the 457B date 1952-1955.

Hi Ray,

This is why I like posting photo's, I didn't see that with the slope on the road surface.

Nice one. ThumpUp

Hi Stephen,

So, looking at the 3 in my photo, the oldest crossing is the middle one.

Ian.

Your level crossing is in wonderful condition. ThumpUp

Hi Ian,

I have to admit I was thinking along the same lines as Mike. You can easily have one fully working and restored crossing by using parts from all three.

Do I take it from your comment that you intend to leave them as they are, or are you going to try and find spare parts to fix all three?

I would be interested to learn what use you intend to put these to on your layout(s).

Ian,
I love tinplate! I also picked up a "roof less" one at a swap meet for a great price. Like anything else, a roof eventually turned up on ebay.de. Prior to that I had considered making a reasonable copy of the roof, out of some sheet metal. I was looking at crafting one, from an empty tomato tin can ..My two cents..Thom

Hi Thom,

I feel the same, if it's tinplate, in half decent condition, then I put in a cheeky bid, some I win and some I lose.Smile

I have a 7192 but it comes in two pieces with the track assembled in the middle.

Hi Kevin,

I don't go out my way to buy them, but if one comes along at a good price, I'll stick a bid on it.

I'm looking for a solid center rail early 1950's level crossing....Smile
