Märklin announced a new loco of the month: for June 2012 it's the BR 218, #37745.
Should be on offer at various dealers soon. |

Looks like an era V livery. Stephen, nowt wrong with Diesel locos, they have their place in history. But I do understand where you're coming from, there is a lot to be admired about those steam spewing, coal guzzling, hissing wheezing and farting black monsters! I already have one of these in the early red colours. I guess I'll pass on this one. |

So it's a #39180, but with a different livery, different (cost-optimized) motor, different (cost-optimized) sound decoder. And the holes for the screws have been moved. Some SDS lovers tried to combine the shell of the 37745 with the SDS motor of 39180/1 - but no luck. Besides the moved mounting holes, it's the same mould as #39180/1. |

Many have been sold on eBay.de for less than Euro 160 (new from a dealer). You can get if from LackyLok for Euro 179.99 (rebate of Euro 5 for first order). Webshop is German only (I don't know if web translators work). |
