Ian,
We've had a family discussion tonight and nobody can go past the 2 letters.
The other could be Fleischmann. Is the 3rd letter a "r" for Herris

Hi Mike,
That one is number 79....but there's a bit of a story.
Bought it, paid for it, my usual Paypal and then unfortunately the seller was rushed to hospital.
I've dealt with the seller before (many times
) so I'm sure all will be worked out ok.
I've had a couple of e-mails, seller is on the mend, and purchase(s) will be posted next week.

Hey Ian!
Here's something that might interest you:
http://www.ebay.com.au/i...20c5254ecc#ht_3467wt_800
If you are tempted I can highly recommend the seller.

The only two things I know of that clean as they go along are the "hired help"

Hi Ian,
Given that clue, my guess i Herkat based on their
2012 catalog
where they show "Bierwagen" that doubles as track cleaning wagons (on the second page). The same model could have been issued as a banana wagon.

Hi Ian
That looks very nice and designed for M as well with the shoe cleaner for the contact track
Where did you find out about it or was it by chance you found it? It looks so good I have to ask, is it new or pre owned?
I think BN could do with one as well

Hi Mike,
Found it purely by chance, no one else bid, and I got it for £5.
Being honest, it was because of the banana "connection" that I bought it, the seller never mentioned the cleaning disc.

I understand Ian's obsession with banana wagons... they're cool cars.
But what about the manufacturers? Why have so many banana wagons been built?
Are the railways of Europe covered with banana unit trains like the coal unit trains here in the US?
What was the first model banana wagon that's known?
Ian, what's the earliest in your collection?
