I know this is not Marklin, but it does have Marklin couplers. biggrin The following press release is from Swiss Z Lines on their latest Z offering. It definitely fills a hole for those operating SBB trains!

Swiss Z Lines is excited to announce the release of SBB Re 6/6 electric locomotives. The locomotives are all brass construction. They come with a 10mm Faulhauber motor, dual flywheels, directional controlled LED lighting, intricate pantographs, and Marklin style couplers. SZL has released, three versions. Item 3010 is the classic green version. This is available in five roadnumbers. Item 3011 is the red version available in six roadnumbers. Item 3012 is the Cargo version available in four roadnumbers. Each roadnumber has the correct 'Arms' on the locomotive. Total run is 150 locomotives. Radius of 195mm minimum is recommended. Photos and more information on this line can be found at:

http://www.ztrack.com/SZL/swisszline.html

Ztrack Magazine subscribers are entitled to purchase these locomotives direct. Ztrack subscriber price is $779.00 each plus shipping and handling. If you are not a subscriber, please contact and authorized SZL dealers. Subscriber orders can be placed on line at:

Here is how I like to think of it. This locomotive can pull the equivalent of 4 or more Maklin locos. So at an average US price of $200 per Marklin loco, this is a real bargain!

The problem with brass is that it is expensive. The benefits are weight and detail. I am just very happy to have another locomotive option. I now need to talk SZL into offering injection molded locos instead of brass. : )

Bruno,

Sorry we are all sold out of the Re 4/4 IIs and Re 6/6s. The last of these locomotives were set to Rechsteiner Spielwaren AG is Switzerland. I checked their site, but they are listed as sold out. Here is there link:

SZL has new projects in the works, but they are already years past due. I am hoping we can see a new release in the next year.
