Hi all,
How many of us have a turntable(s) on the layout, and do they play a significant part in your model railroading.
At the moment I have 4 turntables, 3 are for M track and the other is for O gauge, only 1 is on my layout in the cabin.
For my new layout, I intend to have 5 turntables, 2 in my M track hidden station, 2 for my new K track layout, and the other for the small O gauge layout.
Ian.

Ian. I knew I like you for a reason. Some may know that the whole Bw thing is well,my thing My ETE modules featured it and it was the centerpiece of my old home layout. The new planned modules will be a Bw also. And a customer wants his next modules(in Z) to be a Bw. OK,Ian,spill it,...all M/Fl TT's? Dr D

I have also one 7286 turn table and 7687 decoder. I try to get it programmed (track indexing) with CS2 60214, but it is difficult. I will propably buy an 6040 keyboard for programming only, if I can not program it with CS2.
This will be the only TT I ever need for my layout. |
Märklin H0 digital layout. I have analog and digital H0 Collection. Rolling stock mostly from era I, II, III and IV. Märklin 1 gauge beginner. |

I don't have the space for a turntable, but if I did I would definitely include one in my loco shed area. |

I also have the 76501 coaling station.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for all the information, but you have to give us beginners a little time to catch up.
Maybe a small explanation, along side the numbers you give would be really helpful.
I know, it feels like going back to Primary One (Infant school), but passing on your knowledge is much appreciated.
Ian.

Hi David, Looks really good. Is it K track that connects to the turntable, or is that an adapter to C track. Ian.

Yes, that's K track (actually a bit of 2205 flexi track cut and bended to fit) on the turntable, with the C to K adapters connecting the K track to the rest of the layout. The 7286 turntable has connections only for K track. So, I can now honestly say my layout has all 3 types of track!

Ian, it's the latest turntable, in the sense that it is the current turntable available from Marklin.
It first appeared in the 1991/92 catalog as the 7686 digital turntable, and then as the 7286 analog turntable from 1993/94 onwards.

Hi Ray,
Have you thought about the............
Down the Helix, thro' the hidden station, arrive at the turntable area, turn round, and back up the Helix.
Of course, then you just travel round the hidden station and back up the Helix, no need for a turntable, or you............
Ian.

Hi Ray,all, >Unfortunately, it doesn't do the job of a proper turntable, which is to turn the locos around so the chimney points to the front of the train!< Ah!Tenderloks can be run the either way, even the BR 50 was allowed to do this,..... Others might consider a hand turned TT on their layouts,FL(Roco) and Kibri(Veissman) make them. There are instances were there was no ringlokshuppen, just a TT Ian,love the 'old school' stuff! Dr D

I've got a very nice M Track 7186 and a Roco 3 Rail mid size turntable which is nice and hard to come by.
I hope to get a 7286 or the Fleischmann equivalent, but I don't have a layout yet!

I have the M/Fl TT. It´s gonna be quite a center-piece of the BW in the future. (still not installed, as the station/BW area has not yet been build on my layout). I dont really plan to use it much, but as part of a classic epoc III BW it´s an absolute MUST, and looks just grrrrrrreat, and provides a place to store and show all those "spare" and "off" locos...
I also have the M shiebebühne, but have currently not decided wether to use it or not. I´ll probably NOT use it, as I prefer to use the TT with 7,5º spacing, which takes up a LOT of real-estate and already providing a huge amount of parking-tracks...

Hi all, Slightly off topic, but after looking out my old turntable, my collection of LP's are in the same cupboard, and out of interest I looked on ebay to see what they are selling for. I have the 1973 release from Pink Floyd...Dark side of the Moon, that I bought in '73, and a couple of days ago, one sold for £259. Could buy a very nice BR53 for that kind of money. Ian.
