hmmmm, I was chatting to one of the dealers about something he may, or may not, have had and he mentioned that while it
certainly had been in his inventory - IT AND A FEW OTHER models had been sent to Australia. He was far too gentlemanly
and ethical to reveal recipient but would you mind passing Rita's e-mail to me?

I am sure bed will be comfy and warm, I have seen photos of live in nurse and the electric blanket can be put back in
cupboard.

Roger that Boss! JP can stay warm, with newly installed heat pump.

Mind you, with pictures like Frits' I couldn't blame anyone for wanting this set!

Oouch... Too expensive for me...

Could well maybe be a "collectors item" or not in the future... A very nice set, but a little bit overpriced IMHO...

With a recommended RRP of over 465 Euro/lok - way too much for repainted existing models...

Frits,

Your Bavarian class 18:

a.) is there a brake shoe missing (middle wheel and is this normal for the driving wheel balancing weight to be slightly out ?

otherwise exleent photos and locos.

Hi John,

Thanks for the compliment.

Since you mention: YES!
But.... it's not MY BR 18. Wink
It's the show/fair-model from Märklin at the Dortmund Fair 2011 (I took it through the glass). Tossing around and so...

Have a look at this one...

Hi John
Indeed , *two* brake shoes missing on the original picture, but well present on the final model
The offset main driver counterweight is normal (= prototypical) as it had to also compensante for the inner HP cylinders, driving rods and cranked main driver axle.
Nice models, goes without saying!

Hi All,

Frits thanks as always for the great photos, Ian thanks for the "walk around" and last but not least
thanks to Marklin for the models. As these are scale models (for all intents and purposes) I had never
realised how big the GT 4/4's are - they must have been massive - nearly the size of the S 3/6.

I am delighted I ordered these.

Cheers guys,

Jeremy.

Lovely pics Frits and video Ian of this beautiful set BigGrin ThumpUp

Interestingly, Jacques, in Frits pic of his S3/6 it doesn't look as tho there is an offset on the main driver balance weight, maybe just the angle the pic is taken at, or did the production model differ from the sample Unsure

Set 31806 showing available and only eu1049.58 for export outside EU Wink which includes Barbados & NZSneaky

However I'll just have to make do with my green ones Wink BigGrin
