the brand "Bavaria" of brass model wagon kits (photo-etched brass) - mostly era 1 from what I have seen - is this company still in business?
is there any other companies (besides Weinert) that makes craftsman level kits of railroad cars and wagons for german prototypes?

For era 1 there are definately more companies producing German models. An interesting site on this topic is: http://www.lbforum.com This site also lists all new items including those of the more exclusive manufacturers like Bavaria. Their models are definately very nice, but I have to warn you: they're extremely expensive as well. |

surely there must be a german model RR shop that does business on the internet that sells Bavaria brass kits? From what I saw they are not listed at Lokshop or ETS.
I would really like to try building a few, especially the gas cylinder car, and one of the box cars. They come up on ebay so infrequently, especially from sellers who take paypal or will ship to north america.
Looks like I might have found a source afterall - Reynaulds Euro Imports says they can get them. OK for me, too bad for Larry. Now I just have to find some model numbers. Won't be easy since they don't have a website.

Good question.... Http://www.kleinserien.de does sell some Bavaria (among many other exclusive series producers) but does not list any "serious" Bavaria items like complete coaches and such. I really do not know where to buy the materials online. The only place I've found it up to now is on some German MRR Fairs. |
