Hello Carlos and welcome to the forum ThumpUp

Information about how to upload a sound project to the decoder you can find here : http://www.maerklin.de/d...ads/decoder-updates.html

A little down on the page is a "PDF" file you can download (Only in German) and it is also a small video,,,

Hope this help's. I can't really find any information in English about this. Sorry.

PS ! - Take care of that Di 3 model...

I recently had 60942 installed in my BR81 and 60946 installed in my SNCB Class 16 passenger (#3363). When I placed the SNCB on my programming track all the sound functions appeared and work. For the BR81, F# symbols appear on my CS2 but only the lights can be activated. I saw the above reference to loading sound and translated to English. However, all the references exclude the 60942 decoder. Would someone know why and if there is some other files that I can use to download? Basically, I am looking to install sound for the BR81.

Thanks.

Harvey

The 60942 is not a sound decoder. You note that the F# symbols appear, but "only" the lights can be activated. What other functions were you expecting? The BR 81 (typically) only has a light function. The other F#'s are appearing only because the decoder (not necessarily the locomotive) supports additional functions. If you want sound for this locomotive, you would have to replace the existing decoder with one that supports sound. As you already have a 21-pin MTC interface board, you would simply need to remove the existing decoder and replace it with one that supports sound (plus a speaker) of course. Let me know if you need help with this.

As for the main topic -- replacing existing sounds on an existing Marklin decoder -- the current firmware for the CS2 does support this, although (as noted) information on this is sketchy at the moment. Later this year, Marklin will be offering a programming device (so you won't need a CS2 for this purpose). I will be stocking this device as soon as it becomes available.

Thanks for all the good info. Any way of doing this with a CS1?
I will post some images of my conversions as I finish up.
