What's the point? Why don't they just make a couple of new items for the Dutch market and leave them in the catalogue for a few years so everyone can have a chance to get one? I find it frustrating when they do constant limited editions like this, all it does is allow them to charge a premium for a model that has nothing special about it, and lighten the wallets of a few with more money than sense.

I like the old NS 2400 in original version. Colours simular to old Swedish SJ-locomotives.
It look a little bit like a EMD Gp7/Gp9. |

Here is what I would like to see:
Holland-Italy Express Coach Set (For Dutch, German, Swiss, Italian fans) Holland-Austria Coach Set (for Dutch, German and Austrian fans)
After nearly 30 years, the pilot coach for the IC coaches would be nice. The same coach could also complete a Fyra Set with a E186
As far as the DE1000, this was already released as 3471 many years ago.
Other than coaches and cars, I do not collect any Dutch models.
Regards
Mike C

I have been looking for the 1300 becouse it is easy to use with other equipment. In G there is nothing like it.

I chose the 1300 because it's the only locomotive in the poll.
I prefer loco hauled trains to railcar trains. It makes for more interesting operations. You can simulate locomotive changes, vary consists, use them for freight trains, etc... |

My vote was cast for the underdog--and one of the ugliest--in this race, the "Koploper" which I saw plenty of in 1994 when visiting Holland. Unit trains are not particularly appealing: no locomotives or rolling stock distinct from one another. The Japanese like to run these kinds of trains, too, I noticed when I lived there in the Eighties.
But ugliness somehow transforms itself to allure with time. Now, I might like to own one of these to run alongside my Serie 1100 and 1200 locomotives. BTW, who speak Dutch: what exactly does "Koploper" mean?
A: to my own question, courtesy iGoogle. "Koploper" in Dutch is "der Führer" in Deutsch.

That is not right. Well okay, it also means "the leader/take the lead in a race", but here it means that you can walk (= "lopen") through the head (= "kop") of the train, to another Koploper-trainset. Maikel (RMW) |

I just voted for the NS1000. I love these older electrics. This one reminds me of a DB E18. |

Both the sik and 1000 have been done by ROCO already, The NS 1000 having been sold in AC versions too. Their Sik (NS 201-369) could do with a remake. However, I don't think any mass produced model will match this Sik. They also do an "Oersik", which the Sik replaced. The name Sik comes from their lack of air braking, and the need for a whistle or horn. When these little shunters first took to the rails in the 'thirties, electronic speakers were not able to make a loud enough horn. Air was also not available, so the clever engineers rigged a whistle onto the motor exhaust. The effect was a whistle note that pulsed with the revs of the engine, resulting in a bleating noise which with a bit of imagination, sounds like a billy goat(sik) The Oersik can be translated as "pre-Sik" or "ancient-Sik"

I agree. A lot of people will buy a model from Roco and others only when there is no equivalent from Marklin.
I consider myself in that camp, though price is an issue as well. If someone else can make it a lot cheaper than Marklin then I will consider it.
In this case, the thread title specifically asks "Which Dutch models would you like to see from M* ? " |

That looks very nice!
I'm not really into weathering my locos, but I have to admit it looks every bit the old and tired steamer, soon to be retired! |

Maikel (RMW) This shows that there were too many produced. The market is small for Märklin and the number they produced way too high. All these weathered locos and waggons show this. Dealers and producers are not able to wait until they are sold, so they try to create a demand for something special. |

I for one would like to see something impossible, especially coming from Märklin:
NS 1000 (Ram TEE) in full 1:87 scale length and in metal with interior lighting and multiple sounds and whistles. |
Best regards, Armando García

Hello Paul, I know that it is " old news" (17-01-2012 ), but this is a topic about de Dutch trains Märklin made. What do you mean by "no Neuheiten 2012 pictures on the Dutch Märklin-website"? You can find the official information on Märklin.nl since 17-01-2012! I like the new NS DD-AR-wagons (DDM 2/3) and the 1700 very much !!! Maikel (RMW) |

C-track carpetbahn, R1 ,R2,R3 with MS2 and a CS2 plus Marklin and HAG trains.. |
