Hi all,
Just a quick question to any forum member that may have experience with the new Faller car digital system. After finally getting my new 60215 and deciding to go digital with on the marklin side of things, I am now having to decide whether I go the same way with the car system. I understand there is a new digital system from a company called DC cars. Does anyone have any experience or reviews with any of these car systems..?? I'm also intrested in whether the existing (non digital) faller cars/Trucks can be converted to digital with decoders similar to marklin locos.?
Any advice/review with faller cars systems would be most helpful.

Steve, Like to hear the same. What we should have done is buy the DCcar system and not the faller system and than hopefully copy it. If I remember correctly the DC system had its own programming chip in it. John |

bang on John.great clip..this is exactly what I am after..............so where does one purchase this stuff.?.. I am assuming there must be some kind of control software...? and is it available for purchase..???.....I know winipet is coming out with a version next year...but are there others doing the same....?..There doesn't appear to be much detail around that I can see..... maybe I am just not looking in the right place...!!! But this stuff looks amazing and would make a very interesting addition to any model layout.... |

Edit: OK I have looked in to this a bit further. HEre is a link to an English video The system is controlled by InfraRed so, where space permits, it should be possible to convert Faller Car System vehicles. There appears to be one on this website http://www.sabahn.de.tlEnglish link here http://www.sabahn.de.tl/English.htmI am not sure my eyesight or soldering skills are up to it though!!! Love the indicators and flashing lights. I think Wiking do something like this with a few vehicles, a fire engine and one or two others.

Hi all.
I intend to use FCS on my layout as well. I recently got my hands on a Faller borchure describing the posibilities of the digital version of FCS.
I like the aspect of having moving parts besides the trains. I'm however not very satisfied with the unregulated speed of the normal FCS. Doing a 180 degree turn with 200km/h does not look that realistic. Faller describes the digital version will get these things out.
What are your experiences with FCS?

I don't know much about the system, but if the current version is analog control, there are things that can be done to vary the speed at different points in the same way you would with analog Marklin control. It adds complexity, but I think the result would probably bey very worthwhile.

Besides the faller sytem there is another company in Poland which produces lasercut roads, everything is provided for the car's to drive on, including a 3 point direction switch John |

Rinus It's been many years now but three problems I remember. Battery life seem to be short and you need to keep recharging. If laying the wire on the board (instead of using premade tracks) you have to be careful no to make tight curves otherwise cars can handle them but trucks and buses tend to lose their way. Speed seemed to be a bit too fast. I have no experience with digital cars. If you want something else moving but less problematic perhaps adding trams instead could be an option?

Hi all, In this video (taken at the Nürnberg Toys Fair 2012) is the presentation of the new Faller Car System that will be on the market in 2013. This new 2013 system is 100% digital, no more electronics under the road are needed. The cars are using GPS tracking (1cm accurate). You can also speak to the cars, which carry out your voice commands. |
