Hi Florian,

It is true that there are already excellent models of the Br94 from Fleischmann and also Piko, but I don't think that should stop Marklin from making their own model of it. I don't have one yet, so I would be much more willing to get the Marklin version than any other.

I am assuming the VT75 is the so called 'Donald Duck'.
Always surprising that Märklin never had a model of this in their range before.

If you look at this eBay seller he has the advert for the New Item Show as the picture and it shows the VT75

Maikel, is that the "MÄRKLIN NEUHEITEN 2012 | UPDATE " link on your website? If so I get 404 error Not found.

Usually I find your website so hard to navigate, that to be honest, I don't bother, it's too hard!

Hi,

The picture indeed shows the Donald Duck, but this is Series 403. Vt75 is a small local train in early era III.

Everyone seems to have forgotten about 39017, Br01 150, or is that regarded as a 2011 item?

Of course, Marklin did produce the Br94 in 1 Gauge in the last year or two, so for once the H0 version follows the 1 Gauge.

No! Read Tom's list Alex, nothing mentioned there.

Marklin has not officially announced anything yet, that will come late January.

Anything we talk about here is speculation, but as some dealers are already posting information about some items, the speculation regarding those items seems to be reasonably true.

Our first look at the starter sets!

I'm intrigued by the Mega starter set 29640. Are the Br03 and the Br50 the new or the old toolings?

There is no new tooling for the BR 03 (the Insider model was BR 03.10) and the new tooling for the BR 50 was so far only announced for the Dutch store model - unlikely to have it in a starter set in the year of its release.
So I presume both BR 03 and BR 50 will be the "old" moulds we already saw in starter sets of this century.

David,

It is very tempting to follow your example. In particular the SSRT Rc3 and with that the new Roco coaches 64081 and 64354 which are SSRT coaches with SJ logo.

For the benefit of those of you not familiar with SSRT: SSRT is owned by the Swedish government and it manages loks and coaches used for trains between Göteborg (Gothenburg) and Stockholm in the south and the very northern parts of Sweden and Narvik in Norway. These trains cannot be run profitably and the parliament has decided that they constitute an important service and the government therefore purchases the operation of these night trains and the current operator is SJ. Earlier operators are Tågkompaniet and Connex/Veolia.

Returning to the Rc3 I'd use the Roco 64081 (A7 and B7) coaches and one or two 64354 (B9) and use it as a day train between Luleå and Narvik via Kiruna. I don't know if it is prototypically correct, but I guess it is as close one could get.

It should be A7 + B9 + B9 so the text is wrong Cool

I took the "B7" information from the Roco catalog that was linked to in another thread. So what you say is that Roco got it wrong.

And that is not the first time. Another thing which neither Märklin nor Roco seem to able to get right is the fact that Green Cargo is a company of it own and not part of SJ.

Take as an example 36610 where Märklin states:
"Prototype: Swedish State Railways (SJ) class Re 14 electric locomotive, used for the Green Cargo freight service area. ..."
and where it should read: Prototype: Green Cargo (GC) class Re electric locomotive. Green Cargo is a Swedish freight train operator.

Thanks, Stevie Smile ... BTW, the other makers' data are there, already.
Is M in trouble? Since their 2011 new items catalog was online by January 6 ...

John- interesting point, but in trouble or not I think the timing of right before the show is ideal. With everyone else showing their line off so early, and the rest likely showing at the fair itself, Marklin could have the ideal timing in terms of gathering internet and media attention BigGrin

Why would Märklin be in trouble? I think we will see the Märklin new items next week!

There will come some "Formneuheiten" (new tooling) this year. We have seen already the BR 94.5, the VT 75.9 and the Donald Duck, but there will follow more "Formneuheiten" Wink .

Well, during his reign Doc Pluta Cool gave us lots of great classic marklins.
