Hi.

I will apologize first if this topic has been placed in the wrong forum on site.If I can introduce myself the names Rab and bide in Scotland.
It has been recommended from a fellow MRF member to pop in and ask if possible for some help and advice on running a Marklin Locomotive along side my oo gauge stock.
While on holiday in Barcelona I came across this great model shop and at times the heart rules the head and purchased this lovely locomotive as pic.

UserPostedImage

I have purchased the Peco stud strip and placed on 3m of oo track which lets me run the locomotive be it either in forward movement or reverse as fitted with manual relay. What help is required to find a second hand Marklin controller so I can run model in both directions as the hornby item will not give me the pulse input required to operate relay and switch direction on locomotive.
Any help advise would be much appreciated,as it would be a shame to see this loco just sitting and would make a great addition to my own layout if able to get running properly in both directions. It runs well in both directions as I have removed body and worked manually.

Regards.

Robert Crow, rab.

Hi Rab, welcome to the forum.

You need a Marklin 6647 transformer, and you can pick them up dirt cheap on ebay. Have a look here:

Mostly Marklin.Selection of different eras and European railways
Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

Hi Rab,

Welcome to the Forum. Where are you in Scotland? I am in Livingston. There is a small band of us in the Livingston, Linlithgow, Fife area. One member, Ian555 organises get-togethers at his place every so often, where we all take along some Marklin and have a field day Drool I am sure that you would be most welcome.

If you are interested, I have a Marklin 6631 (220V 32VA) transformer for sale. It is part of my analog setup that I have been selling off as I have converted to Marklin Digital Systems. The transformer is virtually new as I have hardly ever used it. The cost is £35. If you are close to me, we can arrange for you to view and test before purchase, thus avoiding postal charges. The transformer weighs quite a lot and would cost about £15 to ship via the Post Office.

Please let me know if you are interested. Alan

PS. The Marklin bug is very addictive Drool
