I recently acquired the above set and still pure DC and wonder/would like to know what slider and decoder would be needed and where/how to mount the slider.
I presume the loco is the same a the Maerklin version. A photo of the underside would be great.

It is a lovely little loco and wonder if a 6 pin Lokpilot would do the job and fit into this tiny loco

Thanks,
Nev

According to HFKern's website it's an 1988 analogue model:

Nev,

Quite a nice one, but also very delicate to work on!Huh
The little handrails are *highly breakable*...Cursing so make sure there will be a very steady hand to work on it!Mellow
The good news now: today, decoders have become so small that it won't be hard to find one that fits.
My preference continue to go to Zimo, but they are often hard to get, so next best is ESU with their Lokpilot Mini V4.0 etc.
Power consumption is low because it uses a smaller N-gauge type motor, so actually a N-gauge decoder would do the trick anyway!
As for the slider here's the parts list...

Thanks Jacques.

Hope I can mount the slider OK. the base of the trix loco where the slider fits is solid so I guess a small hole for the wire.

I'll second the "very delicate to work on!"

I have the Märklin-Trix "Wedding Set", and it seems every time I even pick the thing up, I have to get the tweezers out to re-insert the handrails...Scared
Cheers,
