Hi Stephen. In this type of poll everybody with M or K will vote but those with C probably wont bother. Same with CS2 or ECOS or IB etc. Minorities always vote (and quite rightly so)
Most folk use C track with those wanting more realism use K track.
I have never quite understood M track unless you have a lot of it and are very old !!! (only kidding guys) I love the M track layouts as it takes me back in time and you dont need to worry about ballast etc but just run and enjoy trains.

dave PS I use C track to save miles of wiring etc and nice smooth running ... most of the time !
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

I voted K tracks, since most of my layout is K tracks, but I use C tracks in the hidden areas, and I planning to use more C tracks for planned expansion. The reason for me to use K tracks was simply that was what I had from my childhood, so there are still many old 21XX k track in use on my layout. I started with M tracks as child, but my dad hated the noise, so he paid for the change to K track. If I was to start today, I would go for C tracks.

Kenneth

Have a lot of K-track, even if my little test oval is C...
On a future layout it will be both K & C... But voted for K as the main material...
C is to be used wherever it's convenient... Suppose new track purchases will be C...

A couple of years ago I took the opportunity to change my layout from M track to C track when I redesigned it. The running is so much better now! C track gets my vote.

Voted for M track, though the Auckland Marklin Club module(and any future ones I will build) are in C track. I use it because I have a good amount already, and C track is so bl**y expensive

C track for ever! I love it. I think it is by far the best HO Model train track avaliable. The 'click' is so easy to do/use!

when I got back into the hobby after a thirty five year absence I only knew K and M tracks. As I already had a few M
I dived in by buying lots of used M.Then I was introduced to the internet and discovered what I consider to be "My" forum and lo and behold, they now have C track and digital with sound to boot.It was a no brainer. In for a penny in for a pound,C track it was going to be and digi locs and then 6021 and then 6080 and then mobile station "and then"
is still going on much to the frustration of the FD.

I'm going to have to edit this poll so that I can vote for all 3 types. My layout uses M, C and a small bit of K track!

Hi Stephen,

I voted C track, but I have M tracks too.

I started buying C tracks as they are more realistic compared to M tracks (it is only my opinion).

Cheers

I don't think I can vote: I do not have a layout... Sad

When I was a kid, my dad built us (my older bro and me) a layout with M track (the only one at that time!)
Later I was very attracted by K because of the wide radius switches, so I bought a few tracks, but didn't have the money to build a complete layout.
Then I moved and now do not have any space for a layout, although a couple years ago I bought some C tracks with wide radius switches to build a carpet bahn, but that is a very rare occurrence...

Please all: continue to post pics and videos of your layouts, I enjoy seeing them!!

Cheers,
Ricky Smile

I woted for K-tracks.

Mainly due to the flexible 90cm track 2205.
In some hidden areas I will use C-track, because I allready have almost all I need.

I voted K, that is all I use, the flexible sections convinced me at a early stage, to me the C track is nice but the ballast is to uniform in color and shape.

Actually, I'd vote C track then, as there is twice as much C track as there is M track on the layout.

Yes M track for me as thats what I have always had. I have always had boxes of it and if it fails it is cheap to throw it away and get some more off ebay. However if I was new to the hobby(and rich) I would go for C track.

Hi Stephen you will find that if everybody on Users voted the result would be around 80% C track with the other 20% split between K and M.
With M now obsolete new folk are mainly buying C track and this will increase annually. Those who wish to ballast and have a better looking track will go for K.
M track will slowly fade away ( same as the users lol .. ducking to avoid flying objects)
Same really with 6021 control unit.
Many of us have both or all types in different parts of the layout.
Geoff has a good point that it is cheap and old bits can be thrown away and second hand better bits bought on ebay. It is this however that will eventually be the demise of M when there is little or none left.
My view is C track gives great running and avoids a lot of wriring. K looks best (in station areas in particular) M gives not great running and looks not that great either but has a history for old Marklin folk which makes it the best for them.

Sorry, Blushing
I've voted separately for M and C instead of the M/C answer !
I have more M tracks now on my layout, but the future extension will be in C...
