I am thinking of going to Marklin days this September. Anyone else thinking of going from the US? Suggestions on where to stay or other travel tips would be appreciated. Sounds like this will be a huge event this year. The crowds may make it difficult to see everything.

I'd like to go, but would probably stay in Frankfurt and take the train to Göppingen each day.

Don't know for sure, though, unless I can persuade SWMBO to come with me BigGrin

When Euro is weak, it's less expensive for people with non-Euro money!

I see in the Insider #4 online that there will not be factory tours at this years Marklin Days except for a special drawing of 50 persons. May make it less interesting for me to attend?

Heloo all,
I will be there for the duration along with a couple of friends from my "previous life" in California and a few others from my "new life" in France.
Why not getting together for a drink, maybe at the Bar coach in the Göppingen station.
We just have to agree on day and time.
Cheers

Hi all,

I booked to go as part of my 50th birthday present my wife bought me.............Given the NZD quite strong against the euro which should allow me to spend abit on trains....Well hopefully anyway....

Of course best news is my wife intents to visit family in Holland while the train show is on, so I get to play trains all day...!!! and for the idea of meeting somewhere for a drink or two sounds great ...!!
