Hi

As you may have read about my recently issues with CS2 doesn’t save the settings when shutting down, and the answer from service center told me to wait until September when the next update should arrive.

So wording if I am the only one who has a sad history with a lot of device return for repair Confused

CS1
2007-10-04 new delivered device from the store.

2007-10-16 half left touchscreen doesn’t work when I got it, returns for repair at M service.

2008-07-30 s88 feedback device doesn’t work so it returns to repair at M, it return with a note that the service person forgets put back internal cable to s88 plug.

2009-01-30 the person who bought my CS1 device secondhand gets problem with left red drive wheel.

CS2
2008-10-07 new CS2 60213 delivered device from the store.

2008-10-19 two new 60173 booster delivered from the store.

2009-01-09 both booster total died after M publish their new update 1.0.7(3), needs to be repaired at M service center.

2009-01-10 purchases my third booster in the meantime waiting for the other to be repaired.

2009-01-13 one evening when power on the equipment it starts to smell burn bakelite and everything dies, both the new booster and CS2 needs to return for investigated, its return repaired.

2010-09-30 since updating 1.4.0(1) TFP 1.28 has my CS2 stopped to save the locomotives when shutdown, when it now start up with recognize all fifty locomotive with their mfx decoder like fresh, that takes hours to confirm each locomotive and adding their own picture once again.

I send a question about my issues to M service center and the told me to wait for next update or return it for repair.

2011-02-03 the new update 1.5.2(1) TFP 1.36 doesn’t seems to fix my issue saving settings.

I send a new question to M service center if they have a bug fix or know about this issue.

(I can do this list a bit longer if wonted including all mistakes the resellers has done.)

2011-06-06 retuns back to Göppinger to be repaired

2011-07-18 new 60214 device return and replacing the old one.

Let the customers wait tree months for next update is a rely crape solution ThumbDown

In this case should they rely start to develop a apps for IPhone when they doesn’t know or fix their own issue with CS2 Scared

THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH MÄRKLIN!

I request that they start to pick up their own mistake develop equipment and pay for transportation door to door both ways Mad

So when are we get time to run our railway this days Sneaky

Marklin are very poor at the moment with repairs and customers service:

I damaged my French version of the BR 55...............I was going to repair the decoder /printed circuit myself but as my eyes sight is not so good now, I decided that I would send it to Marklin to do the job.

My local dealer in Aachen said it would be about 60 Euros and would not take long.

I finally got it back nearly 8 months later...................It was repaired as asked but the Marklin engineer had found many more problems with it ( Which I just did not believe) and the bill was 190 Euros !!!!!!!!!!!!

At the moment I find that Marklin are losing their reputation for being good with customer care and are in no way customer centered.

They are slow often full of excuses and don't miss a chance to get as much money out of you as they can...............This is the way to lose your loyal fan base Marklin !

Wow. This is really poor for the CS2. I have been a great supporter of the CS2 and mine has been faultless for a few years now and works well. All the updates have been made with no problem.
However if I had or ever have the same trouble as above then I would not be buying another and would probably go for an IB although they are a bit outdated.
Let Marklin know about all the problems you have had in a list as above and see if the respond the way they should by giving you a new CS2.

Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

No, I ended up with your Ecos. Nev now has an Ecos II.

Yes, I'd be annoyed if I was in Jonas' situation. What scares me is if it happened to one of us here in NZ or Oz, the postage would be horrific. You would think that Marklin would get some clues and appoint service agents around various parts of the world. Get people who are used to fixing things electronic, give them training and supply them with parts. Someone like Dion at Toottoot does a great job in repairing stuff with the limited resources he has. Imagine what he could do with better resources.

You don't see Sony or Panasonic asking you to send your flat screen TV or your video camera back to Japan if it breaks. Cmon Marklin, this is the 21st century.

Howvever, I think Mother M is too timid to try new things like that, in case it ends up costing them too much!

I'm in the same situation as Dave, my CS2 has been faultless from day one, and all updates worked fine. However my CS1 wasn't quite so good. And because of the issues with the CS1, I will never sell my 6021, because it gives me a reliable back up controller.

Mike.

Hello All,
I send my CS2 back to Maerklin for repair on April 28. It had lost all power out on the unit. Just received the CS2 back on June 8 from Maerklin. They did not send back the same unit that I mailed to them. They gave me a new 60215. I only see one problem. If a Lok stops on the transition between the new CS2 and a 6017 booster, the CS2 stops and says “Overload” on screen. Sometimes the Lok stops between the transition joints.
Thanks

...this sounds logical to me....you have installed insulators.....Stopping a Lok on that particular place of transition between central and booster ....I think it's not recommended....( but I not sure because I never tried to do it, I always avoided it...) - did it say "overload" with any kind of Lok ?....or what kind of Lok ?....

I have a CS1, no problems with that - except a dim corner on the display after dropping it to the floor...

Hello Jeehring,
I do have insulators between each zone and it did it with a few different Loks.
Yesterday I decided to change the wiring to a couple of the blocks. By changing the wiring from the older 6017 (Through a 60129 connect module) booster to the next block next to the CS2 it seemed to prevent the "Over Load" problem. Before the 6017 booster block was next to the 60174 booster block( It does have the upgrade) for some reason that caused the problem. I am now able to stop between all blocks and the "over load" does not come on. I don't have a good reason for the fix..
Thanks

Hi Steven,

Yes all tree device are replaced before I send CS2 for repairing, I don’t think the next update hade help my issues that CS2 didn’t save locomotive or their settings when shutdown.

So the support suggestion "wait 3 months" by email from repair center is best of luck and more hoping fixing issues with the next software release.
