The other day I saw a very nice old city wall tower on the display layout in a local train shop (Hobbyco). The store person could not remember what brand it was, he built the layout some time ago. Does anybody recognise the model and perhaps tell me at least the brand; model number would be even better ! BigGrin

A beautiful, medieval towered portal. Thought I recognized it as "Martinsburgtor" #B-922 model from Faller, but that is a half-timbered tower from the Middle Ages. Hope it gets identified; it would look good on any layout...

Hi Normmeister,

Welcome to the forum. ThumpUp

I have a Tower on the layout very similar to that. (maybe the same one.)

Will need to see if I can look out a number for you.

Ian.

Hi Ian

the one on your layout certainly looks the same or very similar. So any details you can provide will be much appreciated.

regards
Norm

guys, inspired by Ian's picture I have now tracked it down, it is the Faller 130405. Unfortunately no longer available, and none appearing on ebay that I can find at the moment

Sad

The item I believe is called FALLER H0 130405 Altstadt-Tor "Klingentor", and there is one on Ebay right now

Sure looks similar to my Volmer tower in the castle, The plastic looks the same color as do some of the window castings.

Hi guys, this tower is the Klingentorturm (not the Markusturm or whatever other tower), situated in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, in Bavaria.
It's available as Faller #130400 (#130405 has the wall included).

This model has no single likeness to the Vollmer tower at all, contrary to what is stated above. It's a totally different concept.

At the moment, I am building it myself. Have a look at my HP.

Best regards,
Frits Osterthun
