Hi,

Does anybody own this product? (Märklin BR152 # 39354) It is similar (if not almost identical) to 39340.

It seems it uses a sinus motor, but I know almost nothing about it, I know that there are some sinus motors with "good" and "bad" reputation. Has this locomotive a "good" or "bad" reputation one?

I've read it has operating pantos (non only functional but it seems that they lift automatically). How do they work? Do they work in analog mode, or only in digital? Can these be used with a MS1?

Sorry for my basic questions but my knowledge is mainly about "old" (30XX) locomotives.

Thanks.

As Steven said - this model got a Sinus motor - this is the earlier "large Sinus" motor type that has since been discontinued.
This motor has a very good reputation for reliability and god-like pulling power.
You can't replace the decoder on this model - which is based on 6090x generation - this is because the decoder is integrated with its "seperate" Sinus load control board - not available seperately.

Each panto uses a piezo motor - and only controllable digitally AFAIK - cab 1 & 2 pantos are controllable seperately.
MS1 should be able to control them just fine.
Note that they are not wired to take current from catenary.
Now collecting C-Sine models.
