Just started buying Marklin a few weeks ago, here's my two first locos. The 3042 on the right turned up a few days before the 3323 on the left, both are in good shape and run well. Apologies for the workbench mess behind them!  |

Yep, we've got lots of railways too... Incidentally, does anyone know if the HAG locos are worth buying? I've found one or two for sale here http://www.modelfair.com/acatalog/HAG.html but don't know if that's a fair price? I like the look of it but £100 is a lot of money for a used loco. |

You know what?
Since Kingsbridge has been buying Marklin, price of old Marklin models from the 50's (even early 60's), increase a lot!Sometimes 100% or more!Just within a few months.
Specially those old models with strong mechanic.
It is the reaction of collectors.So suddenly.... Strange isn'it?
In association with other factors, expression of a strong doubt about the future of Marklin as a reliable & good quality items manufacturer(?).
Marklin has now to proove and to show that they want to stay a prestigious name into miniature trains manufacturing.

Thanks, Al. Yep, I know her from your site - your red beauty is the real CAPITOLE, cruising Paris - Toulouse BTW, mine got the older style reverse unit (star-shaped drum plus six contact blades). Perfect relay adjustment is darn iffy til impossible since this ancient thing (not original) changes behavior as soon as motor reaches regular working temperature. If adjusted cold it won't work properly when motor is warm, and vice versa ... [xx(] Guess I'll get her one nice UB76200, soon John |

Last year, Roco has made a new model of the 9004, with plastic body-Quite ordinary model. ( first half of production serie has been re-paint. Because they started to paint the underframe in green . Instead of producing new models they had to repaint the underframe in grey.They have done it at the factory as the French whole saler warned them about the mistake.Easy to see that the underframe is covered by a different bright varnish) ; So if you ever buy Roco model, choose last productions ! Lemaco model is a very nice replica. All metal. The Marklin model of 9200 was born in the fifties. In spite of the thickness of metal, this old model is true scale,sizes are pretty good!( just a little higher on wheels like all models of the fifties!) What about the red Capitol" with cars! Marklin model of the whole train " Capitol" is also a mythical model! ( valuable too)

Perfect relay adjustment is darn iffy til impossible since this ancient thing (not original)
