Can anybody tell me what are the differences between older C tracks 24xxx and newer C tracks 20xxx?

The way I read it, 20xxx is a pack of 24xxx, marketed in the "My World" range.

For example, 20188 is a pack of four 24188.

Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

That's how I read it!

So, a 20188 is 188mm, same as 24188, and 20172 is 172mm, same as 24172.

I presume the only difference is the packaging (small blister packs in the pocket money range, optimized for self-service).

It seems they introduce a new cable system, so we get a new My World turnout motor, a new My World rail road crossing, and new My World control boxes. Apart from the plugs it's ordinary C track.

Tom

I just hope we can get some extra value (read: discount) from the whole "My world" relaunch.

Now collecting C-Sine models.

The new battery-powered "ICE" is a real bargain. A 50-Euro-Märklin-starter-set, imagine that! Flapper

I don't think that tracks in packs of three or four pieces will be cheaper than the old six-packs and ten-packs.
Locos and rolling stock seem to have the old packaging with a new design.

Technically there is no difference (also not for the turnout drive). And Yes, the "bundles" cost less than the same number of individual tracks. Smile
