I've seen the Mallet and the S3/6 in blue before, but not the B VI. Is there any basis in fact for these locos in these colours? Goofy seem to think not.

I would be interested in any information on what colours, other than the "usual" ones, were used by the Landesbahn, in particular the K.Bay.Sts.B.

The loco definately existed, I have a picture of it in my book about Julius Dorpsmuller. The picture is B/W but you can clearly see the gold paint on the cilinders and all. In the text it is mentioned the blue color is copied from the S3/6 series, so I expect the S3/6 existed too in blue. The blue color was applied for photography and for exhibitions. I think the picture in my book is taken in Munich in 1922 or 1924 on a train exhibition.

The new model is one of the first batch of GT2 4/4s, while the earlier 3798 model is one of the 2nd series. My picture clearly shows the 5773 as being an earlier model, so the 3798 model is not entirely prototypical. (but very nice nevertheless)

So Goofy, please verify your facts before you make a claim like that!

Bert

Those models are just fantasymodels.
Because in real,it has never been blue locomotivs outside of traffic.
Blue colours has only been presentation as exhibition.
Dark green has been in prototyp under the traffic, but in blue colour never!!!
And besides it´s wrong bluecolour at Marklin models.
Not lightblue...instead dark blue like oceanblue!!!

H,mmmm, nice models, very collectible set, will take 60 years to appreciate in value, I don't think collectors will care if the colours are correct.

But I have never purchased era I, and can't afford them, so I don't have to fret at all.
Thanks for showing them, Alberto.

regards
Kimball

I think it's quite unlikely...
these models don't have any particular sentimental value to DC customers.

Read: They really hate those DCM motors
Now collecting C-Sine models.
