Hey Guys,

I have a 6021 with 1 booster. I have been looking at the ESU Navigator and have asked ESU, and several hobby shops this question but I have not received any answers yet.

Here is my question:

Can the Navigator handle 1 booster???

Both the Navigator and ESU's booster have ECOSLink so in theory this might work.
But before I lay down my money, I would like to know for sure.

Bob.

Thanks, Nev,

I have registered for the ESU forum (another txt file, another user name, another password) and posted my question.

When I get a reply (if I get a answer), I will copy the answer here for everybody.

ESU Navigator #50300 is MM/DCC (no mfx).
Power supply if for "VIn: 100V – 240 V AC, 50 / 60 Hz".

ESU mfx decoders can be used with 28 speed steps (MM).

Note: I don't a Navigator, information taken from manual.

Tom

Well I posted the same question on the ESU forum and received a answer from Wolfie.

He stated that the Navigator cannot run a booster.

Since my layout needs 1 booster, I guess I need to look at other controllers to finally
put my 6021 into retirement!!

Thanks for the answers guys!

Regards,
Bob

Bob,
I think the whole idea behind the navigator is to control trains for small to medium layouts, can be used as remote control and the central unit has its own booster installed.

If this is not enough for you your next step would be the ECoS and a radio controlled mobile station.

It can't run an ESU booster via ECoSlink.

A "normla" booster is just an amplifier and you can connect boosters to any controller.
All solutions that'll work with a Mobile Station will also work with an ESU Navigator.
For example the famous "Delta Booster" Delta Control 6604/66045 and all other boosters that come without built-in intelligence.
