Looks really nice, Stephen!
How come Marklin did not integrated sound for this loco? It would have enhanced the features a lot.
Cheers, Ranjit |

Cheers, Ranjit It's meant to be a reproduction of the classic Marklin model of the '60s. I'm even surprised it's been fitted with a decoder! |

Looks nice, thanks Stephen.
My appetite for things Marklin has taken a bit of a bash of late, with the CS2 fiasco, but I'm sure I'll get one of these after I settle down a bit!

No, Stephen, I have not heard from LokShop. I have sent Roland a couple of e-mails, and he is looking into it. I still do not get those regular weekly updates.
Cheers, Ranjit |

Spot on, Ray! Why did Maerklin have a decoder in a classic reproduction model? And since it has a decoder, why not sound?
Cheers, Ranjit |

Didn't they do this for 31859 and 28590 too? When they changed to Digital, I guess they expect the rest of their customers would move on with them. Hence, it is mainly targetted towards those who use their system. Production wise, Marklin has probably stopped making those old reversing units anyways. Ranjit wrote: And since it has a decoder, why not sound?
It came down to forecasting. Their thinking is that a sound version would probably make a riskier offering as opposed to cheaper, bread-and-butter one. |
Now collecting C-Sine models. |

I also have this V200 on as the trix version 22373 and it is a very beautiful model...however I am not so happy with the motor which is just about the noisiest motor that I have. A real whiner. I installed an ESU DCC decoder in it. |
