@ Ray: this E41 is from 1961. It has made thousands of kilometers in all those years, I guess, but is still in almost original state (I replaced some wires which were brittle, and one of the pantographs is still waiting for replacement)
@ SRB: Yes, the old turnouts with big lanterns work very reliably. Only drawback: I can't use any coaches longer than 24 cm. Even my 26.4 cm streamliners hang in the curves.

Since we are talking about Bo'Bo's, in these locomotives this is reproduced in a very curious way: in fact, the 2nd and 3rd axis are driven by the motor and linked to the chassis, and the two extreme axis can move... so in the model the arrangment is 1' B 1', while the prototype is a Bo' Bo'. I think Almagik's 3012 and 3013 should have a single central pickup shoe. Bye.

BTW, talking E44s - got the PRIMEX 20th Anniversary Train Set (#P2702 from 1989) for my small collection, today: It contains a blue E44 (#P3008, LFCM, heavy metal) plus 5 little tank cars (tin plate chassis) - all in condition brand new & factory sealed box. That Electric is almost as heavy as a Gator and runs like a dream ... [:p]      John |
