Hi Noel,

I looked up the exploded diagram for the 3071 TEE train on the Marklin website, and it looks like it has a flat commutator motor. Look here:

http://www.maerklin.de/service/

If this is the case you cannot convert it with the 60901 kit, which is only for the drum commutator motors.

Unfortunately for you, I can't see the 3071 listed as being suitable for a 60903 or 60904 conversion either. Have a look here:

http://www.marklin.com/tech/decodertable.html

You might have to talk to your dealer.

Hello Noel,

You can use the Conversion 60904 (mfx60924),however you must shorten the lower location pin on the Field Magnet.
It helps if you pull of the centre wheel of the drive unit before installing the Brushplate.
I guess you in the same boat as I am ( lack of Information from marklin ).

Hi all,

I've tried it once, it's possible with a 60904 as Martin mentioned allready. Although it's not really easy, you should definately take your time for it! Good luck!

I converted it's predecessor, a 3070, using a 60904 kit. No problem whatsoever.

You'll find some more info in the digital section, thread: "Back in business... and a question about the 3071!"

Good luck,
Gregor
