Hello, this is my first post and I have aquired my first model railraod set. My father inlaw passed away a few months ago and my mother inlaw asked if I wanted his HO scale railroad set that he had gotten 11 years ago(never out of the box). Well I've been searching the net for info on what I got but have been pretty much unsuccesfull so I hope anyone here can help, this is what I recieved.....
Lufthansa airport express #2916, German federal Railroad Class 111 electric Locomotive.
Delta starter set #2916, CI.89 Tank Locomotive
E-5191 and T1-5192 Track sets.
Thank you for any help that you give

The only one I can find that may be relevent is; D-7320, but I went ahead and took out the locomotive (Lufthansa airport express) and found this serial #..E1088521
On the Delta Locomotive I think I've found the booklet, it looks to be a "3000" series. What looks to be a serial #....M2139516.
Most of the paperwork is in German so when I get more time I'll have to look more closly.

Hi Perry, welcome to the forum. Here is some info for you.
There were a couple of different Lufthansa locomotives available 11 years ago. As you look at the front of the box in the lower right hand corner there should be a 4 or 5 digit number. The possible numbers are 2667, 2867, 26670. Depending upon which number it is we can give you more information on this set. 2916 Freight Train Set with M Track Oval - This set included a class 89 tank loco with DELTA module installed, 4 freight cars, bridge and pillars.
The E-5191 and T1-5192 items are M-track extension sets. Märklin no longer produces this style of track. It is very easily found on e-bay though.

John,
I ran a couple of trains two years ago, after an absence from model railroading of around 10 years. Well, not a complete absence, but these trains in particular had remained hidden in the attic for 10 years.
Of 10 locos, only my 3022 (E 94) needed oil. The others were fine. The best runner was my 1961 3005 (BR 23). But maybe, I don't know, maybe it's a little different here, my stuff is purely 60ies, whereas the Airport Express seems to be 90ies.
But Perry needs to know that very little oil might do !!
Regards,
Johann |

Johann: About 1,5 years ago I put back into service those early 1980's locos from my two boys' MRR - they were dry as a Martini and sounded like coffee grinders After careful dissassembly and VERY FEW drops of M-oil they ran like new, again - that's M quality [^][^][^] !!! Best Regards John |
