Hellon, was checking for spare part in Märklins spare parts list, and noted that everthing for that particular loco (37966) was marked "red", out of stock. So I opened the list for yet an other loco, and it was all the same. Can anybody confirm that this is due to the relocation of their warehouse, or what is going on? regards Björn

There are several spare parts marked as "red", but still available from dealers. So it would be a good idea to check eg Lokshop, ETS, Matschke and other reputable online dealers for spare part availability. |

It's all gone, except for a few minor things, e.g. kurzkupplingen and haftreifen. I bought the DRB Br 45 (37453)the other day, it's in 2010 news list, and everything is red. The same with DRB E19 (39192) and DRG Br01 (39011). I am not sure, but I belive that a producer are obliged to keep spares for, say, 2 years or something. Take a random loco from their Ersatzteillisten, and all is red except those minor things. The reason I was a little bit chocked, is that I have 3 locos on repair, all new. But hopefully, it's due to the relocation, and all will soon be normal again! regards Björn

I hope this is not another brilliant cost cutting idea! It's not common for manufacturers to service 30 years old products, but that's one thing that has made Märklin what it is. If they're going to service just the sliders and friction tires, at least my aspect to the hobby is going to change.
Let's see, Juha

Märklins spare parts list is now "back in business", so most probably they had to close it during the relocation of their warehouse. Still quite a few items are still red though, even on the lastest deliveries.

It is also possible that while an item is in production, that the parts stock for that item is temporarily put on hold to make sure that they have the necessary number of parts to complete the run. Once the run is completed, all remaining parts would then be returned to the parts bins for individual availability.
