Hi all:

Got this nice E41 Electric #30345 [:p] (plus two tin cars #4051), yesterday. Since she's showing the red light
already I had to get one, quickly. She's one of the very last from M's classic HOBBY program, and she's indeed
a piece of joy !!!

A sleek fast little loco, made of metal through and trough, she's sitting on track heavily, rarely to derail.
Her elegant lines together with the blue and silver colors fit her just nicely, and her DCM plus those metal gears
harmonise with the DELTA decoder in a more than satisfying way.
She also got that humming, knurling sound of a real Electric - so there's no need for a decoder change Smile

Best of all was that price tag: €160.- only are o.k. for such excellent quality ... [^]
The matching tin coaches (also from HOBBY program) are €25.-, each.

Great acquisition, John.

I also like the old metalic 24 cm passenger cars. I must have 6 or 7 of them now. They are hauled by my 3021.

Pierre.

Great lok, wonderful in combination with the coaches.

The coaches are quite typical for express trains in the 1960+70s, usually pulled by a 110, a V200, or a BR 01. But also the 141 was quite common in front of such express trains on some lines.

I have the green version of this lok (3034), running without any trouble since almost 45 years now.

First let me congratulate you with the lok and coaches. But staying in business with a very simple lok at such a price? The lok is way too expensive (in my opinion). After 45!! years of production they should offer it for much less (free!!). I can buy a 3034/37 for as little as $40 (with a much nicer box biggrin),and than still spend $120 on electronics/engine etc.

Congratulations. Looks very nice and heavy.
If you want coaches from Epoch III, then you shold go for 4022, 4023, 4024, 4026 and 4027. 4024 is a dinning coach from DSG and 4027 is in blue.

Just love those bo bo's

Sure like those cars, the 4051's. I am envious.

As someone else said, the 24cm cars are the greatest.

Thanks again for showing the pics

Nice buy John!

I bought a second hand 3037 (same loco but in green) just recently, and it's quickly become one of my favourites.

I'm on the look out for a couple of "Silverfish" coaches to go with it, but of course they must be 24cm tinplate ones!

Hi John, it's six months that I don't have enough time to follow forums, trains and photography....[:(][:(][:(]
I hope in July.

The loco I need now is the old TT 800 [:p][:p][:p], but it's a difficult hunting.

Great draw, if I don't get wrong it comes from an old catalog.

Got this old (1979) analog heavy metal E141 PRIMEX #3033, today. Her transmission case reads "MARKLIN"
in embossed letters. The exterior looked nice, but inside she was clogged with oil, dust and coal so she could
barely move ...
Well, after a total fieldstripping, mucho detailed cleaning (some ounces of Ballistol plus half a box of Q-tips !!!)
and a few service parts (slider, brushes and tires) she's running fast and smoothly, again [^]
But best of all was her price tag: €30 only Smile (w/o the spare parts)

Thanks, and you're right on the money with #3034, Luis Smile
Well, giving new life to old heavy metals is soooo rewarding ...

Thanks, Ray Smile - this was my very first thought, too. But leaving the #3033 untouched
(since I also do own the very detailed E41 #30345) shows those differences in a nice way ...

This picture is a must - very good [:p] !!! M or P ? - sorry, have to ask this cos in the later years some
MARKLIN models became a PRIMEX without the slightest alterations (except for box & manual).
In 1979 the company even released an orange E1141 with silver roof as M#3154 <u>and</u> P#3007 - totally identical ...

I see a nice picture of a 3034 in Blue and Cream. Welcome to the E41 club!

Hi friend,

seeing this nice collection of E40/E41 loco pictures I can't resist to add a picture of mine. Here you can see it hauling even the IC. Usually this is work for a BR 103, but my 103 was ugly to its traction tyres and is now idling on my work desk.

Hans martin - That's a nice pic. Looks like your E41 is well used. Have you had it a long time?

Steven - Thanks for the link. That's a really useful site, isn't it?

Nice pictures of your E-41 and 110.
Hans Martin. I can see you use the old M-turnout with big lanterns - still works properly I presume.
