Depends which sub class of BR 53 you're referring to. From wiki:

Although your list is very comprehensive, Rookie may enquired about the loco that was never completed around the 2nd world war. Märklin model e.g. 3702 etc etc.

I really dont aspect that kind of list just for the BR53.. Actually i am referring to this model no 33021. I really like this model and planning to own one.  I notice the picture was on z scale but i am looking on HO scale. TQ rookie |

Thanks steven, Any idea where can i order/buy this beautiful loco and maybe you guys who already owned this locomotive can share the picture of it here too. I just know a little bit only about this model due to the catalog in german. Normally this locomotive are used to pull what kind of car/wagon? |

Thanks jacko.. Yes delta version will be my 1st choice.. I went to hobby-shop today and saw few grey BR53 without fan on the tender just normal coal tender and the color not so nice in grey but if i cant get the one i want so this gonna be my last choice.. |

That's a condensing tender: steam is converted to water which can then be supplied to the boiler again (and the water is already warm, so it saves coal). This is good for areas with limited water supplies and allows the loco to run longer trips without stop. The loco is less visible because it exhausts no steam - this is important during wartime. |

From the 1980 Marklin catalog description of model 3102:
"In 1943 the German State Railways initiated the development of a superheavy freight train locomotive. Main features specified were: a train of 1700 tons to be pulled up an 8% incline on a curve of radius 360 metres at a speed of at least 20 km/h (12.5 mph), maximum speed of 80 km/h (50 mph) in either direction, axle load 20 tons. Many designs were submitted. One of the most interesting was the Borsig I, which was a Mallet-type machine wtth 4 cylinders.The front end Of the long boiler was mounted on a swivelling support on the front driving truck. The design was for a simple yet powerful machine. As things turned out, however. this locomotive, with its double Heusinger reserving gear, was never built. It is now brought to life in this Marklin model."
There has been some suggestions that the Br53 manufacture was commenced, but never completed, due to World War II.

Wow that was a good and informative fact you have there Tom thanks for sharing. Yes steve i search on youtube and found not much video about it.. and for the link that you gave i dont have the access to enter....?? I quite dont get it here so is this BR53 ever been build and in service or it just a prototype only? Bit confuse here

The BR 53 in scale 1:1 existed on paper only. I believe that no part has ever been built for it. |
