Hello, all!

I am intending to use Marklin decoder c81 in my BR216 diesel equipped with HAMO magnet. Does anybody have any experience regarding this and what is your opinion using Marklin c81 decoder in Marklin models?

Thank You!

Hello, Zarko!

My opinion: if you expect better behaviour than from a Delta Decoder and can afford a better decoder, don't use the 6081.

Decoders with load regulation are much better IMHO.

OTOH the c81 will allow the loco to be used on digital layouts. So if this is your primary goal, you can give the c81 a try.
Regards
Tom

The C81 has one special critical component as I have understood, and it's the PTC resistor to prevent overcurrent/overheating, ie protecting the decoder.

I have not made any C81 conversions myself, but from what I have read - this part is necessary to have against the motor block for thermal regulation.
